Grassfield has gotten off to a strong 7-1 start this year. Last year they reached the Class 6 state bracket but lost in the semi-finals to the eventual champions West Springfield. They are led by left side Benisa Moore Benisa Moore 5'7" | OH/DS/L Grassfield | 2027 State VA and libero Ryann Bothof Ryann Bothof 5'3" | DS/L Grassfield | 2027 State VA .

However, two frosh are offering significant contributions. Defensive specialist Brooklyn Cassidy Brooklyn Cassidy 5'8" | S/RS Grassfield | 2030 VA teams up with Ryann Bothof Ryann Bothof 5'3" | DS/L Grassfield | 2027 State VA to create a stellar back row. Scarlett also has been contributing to the middle with a .324 hitting percentage while also defending with her blocks. She has good height at 5’10”.

Both Scarlett and Brooklyn appear on the watch list but that should only be temporary as they help Grassfield again compete for the Class 6 Virginia state championship.
