The state tournament brought about more highlights for this savvy setter, particularly in the semifinal marathon against top-seeded North Star. Meister pairs her razor-sharp location with the athleticism needed to square up as a blocker. She can slot into any system imaginable.

Running the show for a Class A frontrunner is daunting enough, but doing it as a freshman is even more remarkable. Meister immediately cracked this year’s starting lineup at Omaha Westside and proved she could play in whatever system the Warriors deployed. She got plenty of reps in a 5-1 during Westside’s five-set semifinal slugfest against North Star, tallying 21 assists and three blocks. Her impact on the upcoming club season should generate even more headlines.

Here comes the Class of 2029. We’re keeping an eye on the select few freshman contributors at the varsity level, and Meister has already made a splash with Omaha Westside. The first-year setter has helped pilot Westside’s two-setter offense and is an adept distributor in any situation. She lifted the Warriors to a first-place finish in pool play while spreading the wealth from pin to pin. Meister also brings plenty of physicality to the floor, so she can rotate into the frontcourt if needed.
