Sophie balled out at the showcase with her play throughout the event. I was very impressed with her offensive ability while also being fast and fluid enough to be a high-level defender and a reliable passer in serve receive. Offensively, she is a handful for opposing defenses. She has a quick approach, gets into the ball fast and hard, and does a great job creating options with her swing. She can attack with power/pace but also has the control and court awareness to change shots when the block takes away her first option (has a very good tip shot). Her ability to stay aggressive while still making smart decisions makes her a tough pin to defend.

On the flip side, her defense is next level as well. She moves extremely well, reads the court quickly, and consistently puts herself in position to make plays. On top of that her serve receive is a major strength, as she shows good platform control and can handle tough serves without taking herself out of the offense. She also transitions quickly from defense into attack, which allows her to stay involved in every phase of the game. She also can take good swings from the backrow as well, only adding to her value as a player. Overall, she has a bright future and at the showcase really did well with her ability to show she is one of the best.

A name I was excited to see come across the registration portal was Sophie. She is a outside hitter who has a lot of great tools to her game and has a chance to make some great leaps in her game over the next year. She is a force on offense and shows a lot of aggressiveness to her game in that regard. She doesn’t shy away from swinging into a block and does a great job tooling, hitting through, and just over powering defenses when she plays. Sophie on defense has displayed excellent court awareness and is someone who is fast and agile enough to make great transitions between passing and loading on the pin. She is someone who combines explosive attacking ability with strong ball control, she is for sure a player who we are excited to see at our showcase in a few weeks and will probably turn some heads!
