Sinai is an athlete who has continued to work her way up the rankings, and now sits at the #4 middle overall, according to the PrepDig Oregon rankings. Starting her volleyball career her freshman season, her improvement has been incredible to witness. To go from never playing to #17 overall and a D1 commit is a testament to this. She is aggressive in transition, pivoting quickly to get up to attack the quick set. With a high reach on the ball, she proves herself to be a reliable offensive option.

We watched Sinai in action for OJVA 17-1, playing as one of their middles. She is a huge blocking presence, staying engaged at the net and moving well laterally. She is also very aggressive in transition, making herself available for the quick consistently

Sinai, the other middle for OJVA 17-1, is super quick and explosive. Sinai uses her height at 6’3” effectively to get up high and attack over the block. Sinai is also excellent at tracking the ball, which helps her to stuff the ball down when it’s tight on the net. She puts up a tough block that stops opponents in their tracks.

Previous rank: #38Why the rise? A surprising fact about Sinai, she did not start playing volleyball until her freshman year. So, she did not get on our radar until her sophomore season when she swung up on Westview High School’s varsity team during the State tournament. To say her improvement in a little over two years has been drastic would be an understatement. She puts her athletic 6’3” frame to good use. Her ability to pivot quickly in transition and get up with a quick right left to swing at the ball is noted. The exciting thing about Steel is that her game is still coming together. Only two years in, she has so much untouched potential and showcases an incredibly high recruiting ceiling. Sinai is an athlete to keep your eye on as she plays for OJVA 17-1 this club season.

Steel, a 6’3” middle blocker from Westview High School, is an athlete who shows continued improvement each time I watch her play. Her play at the Top 250 Expo stood out; she was definitely in the upper echelon of middle blockers in attendance. Her transition off the block was fast, and when she could not get back to the 10-foot line, she pivoted quickly and got up for a quick set. She adjusted to new setters with ease, communicating and scoring points. There is a high ceiling to explore regarding college recruiting for Sinai; she is one to watch as she competes with OJVA 17-1 this club season.

Sinai is entering only her second year ever playing volleyball, but you wouldn’t know that by watching her. After making some unreal improvements over this past year, Sinai was on fire on Saturday, showcasing a fast and explosive approach in combination with a quick arm. Sinai was not just an offensive weapon, but she was also big at the net and put up a solid block.
