Rob Howe | Prep Dig Scout
Otte has been one of the state’s biggest risers during the last year. She broke out as a freshman at Williamsburg in 2024, shined in the middle of the net for United’s top club team in her age group and then helped Iowa City West return to the state tournament last fall for the first time since 2016. This club season, she’s lining up with the state’s top 16U squad in Iowa Premier, which will be at Triple Crown this weekend. The high-level of competition will only make Otte that much more attractive to college coaches. Early-season highlights reveal that she’s continued her ascent as a volleyball prospect. Power and precision stand out as key assets for Otte, a two-way presence in the middle. A heavy swing puts the ball down with authority. Timing, long arms and leaping ability lead to an intimidating block.

Otte moved from Williamsburg to Iowa City West after her freshman season and shined with the jump up in classification. She played a major role in helping the Trojans to the state tournament by solidifying the middle of the net. Otte improved her overall skills and feel for the game. It helped her become more aggressive as a two-way performer. Increased explosion off the court aided her attack, allowing for fast and powerful swings that put the defense on its heels. With better timing, Otte makes it difficult for the opponent to attack her area by throwing up an effective block. Even with the advancements, it still feels like Otte has plenty more room for more growth. She finished her sophomore campaign with 209 kills (.329) and 59 blocks, and her 89 digs illustrated strides made as an overall volleyball player.

Otte has made great strides in developing her game during the last year. She’s faced top competition throughout, and it shows. Gifted with length and athleticism, Otte has complemented those traits with better understanding how to read opponents. That has helped her on the attack and with the block. Through the Trojans first 18 matches of the 2025 season, she ranked third among them in kills (104) and led the way with 30.0 blocks. She’d also come up with 46 digs, an indication that her overall contributions were growing. Otte looks like one of the better prospects in Iowa’s 2028 Class with plenty of room to go before reaching a considerable ceiling.
