About Toyosi
Expert Analysis
Michael DeLeon | Prep Dig Scout
Miss Sodipo is a six foot one middle blocker from Tompkins High School who also competes for Houston Juniors Volleyball Club, and she is already proving to be one of the most physically imposing young middles in the state. Many taller athletes at a young age are still learning how to control their speed and balance during high level competition, but Sodipo looks like a unicorn out there because she already moves with advanced coordination and body control. Her long stride and quick first step allow her to travel from pin to pin with impressive efficiency while closing blocks at the net. When a setter establishes her early in an offensive system, defenses are immediately forced to adjust because of the amount of attention she demands in the middle of the court. That kind of presence can instantly create favorable one on one opportunities for outside hitters on the pins. Offensively, she contacts the ball with excellent spacing and control, allowing her to maneuver attacks around or through opposing blocks. Defensively, her vertical leap and long arms allow her to press well over the net and eliminate valuable attacking space for opposing hitters. She has the physical tools and the movement skills that college coaches love to project at the next level. Please help us congratulate Toyosi on being named one of the top players in the Prep Dig Texas Class of 2029 rankings.
