With most teams reaching the halfway mark of district play, some have already solidified their playoff contingency. Others need to come up with big wins in the second half of their schedule. Only a few teams remain unbeaten in district play, and while this is not a comprehensive list we will dive into a few teams and what is making them so successful!

V.R. Eaton

Eaton is 5-0 in district play and has been playing like a well-rounded volleyball team. They are led by [player_tooltip player_id='87536' first='Emily' last='Simmons'], who has been very smart and aggressive on the outside. Eaton likes to run a fast offense, even out of system, and Emily can create offense out of any set. Middle hitter [player_tooltip player_id='203121' first='Kimaya' last='Webb'] has been a great addition in the middle, she has got 37 blocks already on the season. Senior setter Lorena Gomez is the offensive glue holding that fast offense together for Eaton.

Highland Park

Highland Park has a lot going for them this season. They are well-rounded in all positions and have not faltered making the jump from 5A to 6A. They seem confident and comfortable. They have two incredible outside hitters. Sophomore 6 rotation outside [player_tooltip player_id='179568' first='Isabella' last='Ocampo'] is swinging away and rightfully so. The quick pace that she can hit a set at is very fast and she leaves you little time for reaction. Junior setter [player_tooltip player_id='197072' first='Harper' last='Hall'] is a stud at the setter position. She is technical, poised, and has a high volleyball IQ. Honestly, Highland Park is stacked at every position. Every team should be paying attention to them going into the playoffs.

Cy Ranch

Cy Ranch is on a 15-game win streak right now and is currently 4-0 in district play. They got a 5-set win over state-ranked Bridgeland. Cy Ranch is led by senior [player_tooltip player_id='176661' first='Bianna' last='Muoneke'], who not only is an offensive machine, but she very rarely makes offensive errors. Out of her almost 1200 hitting attempts this season, she only made 98 errors. Super sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='179890' first='Taylor' last='Porter'] runs the other 6 rotation position for the Mustangs, and she had game point against Bridgeland for the win. [player_tooltip player_id='87560' first='Kirby' last='Kliafas'] has really stepped up to help fill the setting roll and mesh this team together.

O'Connor

O'Connor has been doing a great job of playing balanced, scrapping, smart volleybal that has turned out 32 wins for them. Outside hitter Kelli Fording has been very efficient lately from the outside position and leads all teammates in kills. They have incredible team ball control lead by junior libero [player_tooltip player_id='197081' first='Carly' last='Chavez'] and setter [player_tooltip player_id='122893' first='Jenna' last='Garza']. Carly and Jenna both set the tone for the rest of the team by being resilient and scrappy. They take a tough play and turn something out of it.

Clear Springs

Clear Springs is currently 5-0 and hasn't dropped a district set. Six rotation setter/right side [player_tooltip player_id='177535' first='Ashley' last='Richardson'] has been solid for Clear Springs. She leads the team in hitting percentage. She plays opposite of other right side hitter Carissa Young. Carrisa is a high-flying lefty who has a quick follow-through and snap on the ball. She likes to hit a fast set and very rarely makes errors. Libero Abby Fuller helps to round out the defense for Clear Springs, and one of the reasons they haven't dropped a district set.
