The Prep Dig Top 250 Expo's were on full display this past weekend.  There were over 300 players from all over the great state of Texas and surrounding states that participated in this wonderful event.  Volleyball is a true team sport in that it takes every single player to help a team compete.  However, every team across all of the age groups has one or two players that are considered “Game Changers”.  This moniker is given to those that literally change the dynamic of each team and give their squad a fighting chance to win.  After watching all of these wonderful players during the two and a half hour event, these were the players that I witnessed to be considered a true Game Changer for the Dallas Expo:

Emma Gonzalez Emma Gonzalez Emma Gonzalez 5'5" | S Claudia Taylor Johnson | 2025 State TX [2025] 5-5 Setter (HS: Johnson/Club: Alamo/Verbal: Uncommitted)

Emma is currently ranked as the 71st best overall prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.  She plays for Claudia Taylor Johnson Taylor Johnson Taylor Johnson 5'7" | S Wylie | 2025 TX High School and also for the famed Alamo Volleyball Club.  If you watched last year's 15 Open National Championship match, you saw Emma play some of the best defense that you have ever seen a setter play against the best team that was ranked number one all year long.  I was eagerly anticipating seeing her at the Expo to see what she is bringing to the table this club season.  I was shaking my head in awe of her court presence and tenacity as a leader.  She has the voice to command her troops, the understanding of the game to go against any opponent, and the lead by example style to be an extension of her coach on the court.  The leadership she possesses surely proves that she is a “Game Changer” for any team she is on!  She deserves to be looked at by any school who wants a true setter to run their team for them.

Britton Finley Britton Finley Britton Finley 6'2" | OH Frisco Memorial | 2025 State #122 Nation TX  [2025] 6-1 Outside (HS: Frisco Memorial/Club: Madfrog ' last='']/Verbal: Uncommitted)

Britton is currently an unranked prospect in the 2025 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that will change once I update them next month.  She has been on my watch list for a while and she just solidified that spot with what I saw on Saturday.  She plays at Frisco Memorial High School and will play club for Madfrog ' last=''] this year.  Some players just have “it” and Miss Finley definitely does.  When she walks on the court you definitely take notice.  But then when she plays you fall in love with her grace and power.  There is no denying the fact that she is an offensive juggernaut in any position along the net.  What is so surprising is how well she controls the ball in serve receive also.  She is nothing short of a stud for any team she plays for.  I will always speak about her power because it is next level already at her young age and is only going to get better.  It is this reason that I have dubbed her a true “Game Changer” for her squad.  Her name will be on every college coach's short list soon if it isn't already.

Caleigh King Caleigh King Caleigh King 5'6" | DS/L Southlake | 2024 State TX [2024] 5-6 Libero (HS: Southlake Carroll/Club: Drive Nation/Verbal: University of Nevada at Las Vegas)

Caleigh is currently on our Watch List as a prospect in the 2024 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings and will be added once I update them this month.  She plays at Southlake Carroll High School and also club for Drive Nation volleyball club.  I have seen her all of last club season and she was phenomenal.  She is currently committed to UNLV and looked every bit the part of a collegiate level libero at the Expo on Saturday.  She was on court one and dominated both defensively and in serve receive.  Her ball control showed to be some of the best in the gym with every contact.  I love the way she moves on the court and every young player should watch her while they are learning in the position.  Due to her performance against some amazing competition, she earned the right to be called a Game Changer.

Kaelynn Sims Kaelynn Sims Kaelynn Sims 6'0" | MB Sachse | 2025 State #97 Nation TX [2025] 6-0 Middle (HS: Sachse/Club: Dallas Skyline/Verbal: Uncommitted)

Kaelynn is currently ranked as the 11th best overall prospect and the best middle in the 2025 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.  She plays at Sachse High School and also club for Dallas Skyline Volleyball.  When you have a middle who can do absolutely everything on the court with both precision and power, it is a game changer for any team.  Miss Sims is a phenom that moves so well at the net so quickly.  Sometimes it looks like she is just floating around the court like a ghost.  It is beautiful to watch a middle patrol the net with that much elegance.  She can run every route in the middle route tree and use her long reach to score.  This is why we have chosen her as the best middle in her grad class.  Any school that picks her up will see just how she can change their roster to be more effective in every aspect.

And as always….Stay tuned for more articles on your favorite athletes.
