The top 10 athletes in this class are already playing at an incredibly high level and are still so early on in their development. It will be exciting to watch these athletes, and the rest of the class, progress through the years. To commemorate the release of the class of 2026 rankings, we are introducing the top 10 recruits.
Read the featured pieces on the top three recruits #1 Madilynn Andrews, #2 Lilly Mae Buerkle, and #3 Reese Kincaid. Recruits 4 through 10 are introduced below.
Akpan is a physical middle blocker, starting for the South Medford varsity team. She is not afraid to rip at the ball when the opportunity presents itself. Her blocking is impressive; with good lateral movement to close at the pins and a strong upper body to press over the net, she has no problem shutting down high-level players.
Brewer had a breakout high school season with Salem Academy; rarely seen off the court, she was a primary offensive weapon for the team. She is an athletic and dynamic six-rotation pin hitter. Given the improvement shown over the past few months, she is one to watch over the coming seasons.
Ross was one of two freshmen to make it on the varsity squad at Jesuit, an impressive feat in and of itself, given how dominant the Crusaders are. While she did not see much court time this season, playing behind seasoned outside hitters Ceanna O’Loughlin Ceanna O’Loughlin 5’11” | RS Jesuit | 2023 State OR and Isabel Patterson Isabel Patterson 5’10” | OH Jesuit | 2023 State #88 Nation OR , with both of these athletes graduating, it is safe to assume she will take on a bigger role next season.
Highlights
Tuioti was the lone freshman to make it on the Sheldon varsity team, the eventual 6A State champions. A bit undersized to be an outside hitter, Tuioti may transition to more of a defensive specialist role, given her solid ball control. However, right now, she makes for an exceptional, young, six-rotation hitter with smart attacking and consistent ball control.
Hienle was one of two freshmen to make it on the varsity team at Central Catholic and saw some court time as both a defensive specialist and serving specialist. She is a defensive machine with an incredibly fast reaction time. She brings a tough standing float serve to the service line that garners lots of aces and disruptions. Already the top defensive specialist in the class, she will be one to watch over the next few seasons.
Donaldson had a breakout first high school season for South Albany. As their starting middle blocker, she was able to adjust to the higher level and faster pace of the game quickly, given her athleticism. She has a powerful arm swing and tends to rack up kills with deep corner swings.
As the tallest 2026 recruit, standing at 6’3”, Schaaf oozes tons of potential. She has shown rapid improvement over the past year and is definitely one to watch over the coming seasons. Quick in transition with a fast arm swing and a high reach, she proves deadly when she connects with the balls.
