Drawing overall four-seed Milwaukee Sting in their opening match, Metro will have to rely on ball control and minimizing errors to be able to advance to a favorable matchup on Saturday afternoon. I'm looking to [player_tooltip player_id='300204' first='Loren' last='Carl'] ('26, 5-8 OH/DS, Gibson Southern) to be able to receive serve well and terminate from the left pin regularly. [player_tooltip player_id='300205' first='Shae' last='Bailey'] ('26, 5-7 OH/RS, Tecumseh) has a state-runner-up pedigree attached to her athleticism, and might be leaned upon more than usual to put more balls away than usual. [player_tooltip player_id='300201' first='Emma' last='Foreman'] ('25, 5-10 RS/MB, Evansville Mater Dei) has the size that Metro needs, and can play either position at a high level. She'll be needed to use that length and strength to slow attacks down first thing Saturday morning. [player_tooltip player_id='300203' first='Ava' last='McNair'] ('26, 5-10 MB/OH, Evansville Harrison) is probably better equipped as a middle, but might bump out to the left pin with her explosiveness at the next level.

A more reasonable matchup in Michio Chicago awaits TP's 15-1A squad. Size will definitely be in their favor, led by [player_tooltip player_id='300208' first='Bailey' last='Rasawehr'] ('26, 6-2 RS, Homestead). Her presence alone should give opposing attackers pause. [player_tooltip player_id='300207' first='Addison' last='Shippy'] ('26, 5-10 MB, Carroll) has the speed and transition ability to beat bigger, slower blockers, and should be a formidable force when paired next to Bailey. MaryKate Schumann ('26, 5-9 RS/OH, Bellmont) will most likely be the primary attacker on this squad, and should be leaned upon more the more they play. Finally, [player_tooltip player_id='300206' first='Sophia' last='Gisslen'] ('26, 5-9 S, Carroll) can run a 5-1 in a faster-than-average offense right now at any level, and will hopefully keep defenses guessing throughout the tournament.
