This pre-club season breakout player series has covered outside hitters, middle blockers, and setters. We’ve combed through a few different sets of Nebraska rankings to find some athletes who may be destined to climb up those rankings before the season is over. There’s another exciting part about covering the club season, however: you never know who might break out. Stay tuned.
So, let’s wrap this up with a few defensive specialists I’ll be keeping a close eye on as the 2023 club season gets in full swing.
Hausmann really began to find her stride late in the 2022 club season, lifting her Premier 16 Gold to an incredible top-3 finish at USAV Nationals. Her role is bound to expand even more this year with a few DS shuffles happening around the Premier gym. In short, 2023 is a big year for Hausmann.
It’s about time we got Hardblock into the mix on these features. Bojanski is a perfect athlete to highlight when discussing this club, as she has so much high-level experience with Archbishop Bergan on the high school side. Expect that to translate into a standout 2023 club campaign for Bojanski.
Speaking of 2024 liberos with high-level experience, few backcourt players last fall had a more impactful junior season than Little. She was a major contributor to Lincoln Southwest’s ascent to the #2 seed in Class A, and Little will have a similarly large influence when she makes the switch to Nebraska ONE this spring.
Junior is back to build on last year’s magical 15s season with Nebraska Elite. Her stock rose considerably as she anchored the 15 Matrix backcourt and helped the team to a GJNC bid in the Open division. Whether it’s with 16 Maverick or Elkhorn South, Junior will find a way to stand out this year.

The LSW-VCN defensive pipeline never stops. Kremer represents Southwest’s ever-impactful Class of 2025, and her time in the high school spotlight is coming. This libero has already made a name for herself on the club side, though, and VCNebraska will be happy to have her back in the gym.
Rademacher is a defensive specialist who is built like an outside hitter. It’s not common to see a backcourt player at the prep level with her length and reach, so Rademacher prevents some intriguing options in Nebraska ONE 16 Synergy’s lineup.
Goes is set to compete with Nebraska Juniors 16 Black this year after having a standout sophomore campaign at Freeman High School. Nebraska’s Class of 2025 is quickly adding more small-town liberos to our rankings, and Goes is one of our latest stock risers in that group.

Congrove is our River City Jrs entry in this feature. The Papillion-La Vista South product is poised to carry a big backcourt role for 16 Navy this year, especially considering that Congrove just had a standout performance at our Nebraska Top 250 Expo last December.
