The electric atmosphere of this weekend’s high-stakes event was nearly unmatched, and that electricity was sparked by some incredibly competitive volleyball. A head-spinning number of standout players rose to the occasion in Omaha, so let’s the post-event breakdowns rolling right away.
This one is for the 15s who snagged the spotlight right away. These players were can’t-spark plugs from the very beginning, and their clutch outings on this big stage will be a lasting memory of the 2023 season.
As Nebraska ONE 15 Black racked up one nail-biting victory after another, a few players elevated their game when the team need it most. Wohlgemuth was one of those players. In any must-score situation, feeding this high-flying pin hitter on the outside was usually a safe bet. Her elevation and fearless attitude were impossible to ignore, and 15 Black had an extraordinary weekend Wohlgemuth’s leadership.

Nebraska ONE found itself in plenty of long, grueling rallies Sunday morning. That usually means that floor defenders are thriving, and that’s an apt way to characterize Noerrlinger’s performance at GPR. This steady libero was incredibly confident in the crosscourt and dug plenty of heat throughout the weekend.
Liebsack has done a little bit of everything for Premier 15 Red this season. Whether it’s ball control or frontcourt termination, this Bennington prep star has stepped up. This weekend’s tournament was another profound display of that versatility, as Liebsack led the pin-hitting offense while also carrying a vital role in the backcourt.

Erwin’s multi-faceted role in the middle blocker spot has been fascinating to follow. She’s the kind of physical attacker who can take a slower ‘2’ tempo and simply hit over the top of opposing blockers. Premier 15 Red has taken full advantage of this skillset, allowing Erwin to show her full range in recent weeks.
There’s something so satisfying about watching a team that clearly rallies around its setter. That’s exactly the feeling I get with VCN 15 Black and Pearson. Few setters in the 15s age group had Pearson’s wide-ranging impact at GPR. She can run a blistering tempo to the outside and was easily one of the most deceptive setters in the gym. What a stock-rising weekend.

Bowen has become an extraordinary outlet hitter for VCN 15 Black. In out-of-system situations, 15 Black will look to Bowen to terminate even when she’s in the back row. Physicality is a major plus of Bowen’s game as she becomes one of our surefire additions to the next 2026 watch list update.
Suljuzovic changes the dynamic of a match when she rotates into the frontcourt. Like we discussed with Erwin, Suljuzovic can hit slower tempos like an outside hitter. It allows her to get as many attempts as possible during her trips along the net, and Club Legacy 15 Alpha can go on big scoring runs in those rotations.

We’re certainly not skimping on the game-changing middle blockers in this feature. MacLeod is an impactful hitter for Banzai VBC 15 Select who can make her mark in a variety of ways. She can score behind the setter, split out wide as an outside hitter, or take a traditional approach on the quick. Regardless of the route, Banzai wants MacLeod to get her attempts.

Premier 15 Silver’s setters have a chance to make a big splash on stages like these, and that’s exactly what Kolli did at the GPR Bid Tourney. Not only did she show tremendous skill in running the offense, but her instincts as a right-back defender were something to behold. Opposing attackers who hit right at Kolli were often met with a clutch dig that kept 15 Silver in pivotal rallies.

MVP United features a wealth of players who can play just about any position imaginable. Kimbell is one of those that we had our eye on Sunday, as she led the way on both pins and could run some combination plays out of the middle. There’s some serious depth growing in the MVP United gym, and 15 Red offered another example at this bid tournament.
