Where do we even start? Nebraska’s top teams showed up across every age group and division at USAV Nationals. We have much to consider during the brief offseason, and many of those thoughts will turn into features. This is one of them.
2025 setters have garnered plenty of scouting attention over the past several months. GJNC was a microcosm of how well this group performed as several familiar names emerged.
Let’s talk about a few of those athletes here. This overviews Nebraska’s 2025 setters who seized the moment at club volleyball’s most prestigious event.
Okay, okay. This is a Nebraska feature, and Larson represents Lewis Central High in Council Bluffs, IA. Still, this feature wouldn’t feel complete without the do-everything athlete from Premier 16 Black. Larsen isn’t just a setter for 16 Black, as she frequently transitions to a pin hitter when she’s in the frontcourt. Her influence as a setter–in addition to all the other skills she brings–puts Larsen firmly on this list as a major stock riser.

How about Premier 16 Black’s other indispensable setter? The last several months have been a remarkable journey for Potthoff, both on the high school side with Gretna and with this year’s 16 Black club squad. Potthoff looks incredibly comfortable when setting against the flow of the offense and frequently puts her hitters in one-on-one situations. We’re thrilled to see what Potthoff brings as an upperclassman this fall.

We’ll be giving plenty of shoutouts to Nebraska ONE 16 Black, which finished tied for fifth place in the final 16 Patriot Gold bracket. Donovan has been a steady signal-caller for this group since the season began, and that didn’t change at GJNC. The Lincoln Lutheran product is smooth, consistent, and brings plenty of physicality when blocking at the net. This is the ideal setter for a 5-1 system.
Campie’s ever-evolving role with Premier 16 Gold is so fun to follow. She’s a setter by trade, especially when she suits up for Omaha Marian on the prep side. Her role with 16 Gold can be described as a hybrid setter-DS role that can change from one match to the next. Campie’s spectacular right-back defense makes her a natural fit for this position, and her presence as a secondary setter is vital.
We’re still marveling at how impactful Craven was as Banzai 16 Select’s setter. She has seized full control of that position as a 5-1 operator who can find the hot hitter at any time. Craven has already demonstrated ability to compile impressive stats with Ashland-Greenwood on the high school side, but this 2023 campaign with Banzai was on another level. GJNC was a perfect way to cap off Craven’s ascent with her club squad.
We’re already excited for Minden’s upcoming fall season. Kamery, alongside many of her Minden teammates, put together a memorable “foundation season” with Nebraska Pride Gold 16s. The electrifying setter-hitter was an instant catalyst for the team’s debut season and helped the team to a monumental 16 National bid at GJNC. Kamery remains one of the most exciting torchbearers for small-town Nebraska in the 2025 class.

And now, a word on Solomon. Papio South hopes to continue its historic run of championships this fall, and Solomon will undoubtedly play a role in the repeat bid. Her tenure with 16 Gold proved that she can lock down a one-setter offense. This experience will be valuable even if the Titans don’t choose to deploy a 5-1 in 2023. Solomon will do whatever is necessary to help her team win, as she did throughout the 2023 season with Premier Nebraska.
