I honestly wish we had a little longer during our showcases to see everyone a little more in-depth but that is why Baller TV has been such a tremendous tool! It is even more fun when you get to find that player with a high ceiling that hasn’t quite been discovered yet by college coaches. There was a ton of talent in the gym on Saturday so let’s take a peek at some of them!
Pulda was getting a ton of block touches and really stressing out opoosing attackers. She is a smart attacker who knows when to pound the angles or when to find a stretegic spot to place the ball. Pulda has a solid volleyball IQ and uses that as an advantage when going one-on-one with another middle.

McCauley knows how to read the other side of the court and where to set a block. This is sometimes a skill that isn’t taught and you need a bit of a natural eye for the situation. McCauley came ready to play and her power she added to her swing as the showcase continued was impressive. She could be a very high impact athlete for Laconia this season.

Schuetz was an amazing find this weekend. Brand new to my radar but definitely one to keep an eye on. She hit really well from either pin and was not afraid to put a lot of pace on the ball. Schuetz has a nice vertical to go along with her 6’1 frame and we saw her working on a number of different shots as well as just pound the ball when the opportunity presented itself.

Carlson is not a new name for us but it has been a while since I’ve gotten to see her swing. She was crushing the ball around the block and managed to make it look easy peasy. Carlson is a solid defender and has impeccable ball control from anywhere on the court. Her pass to attack transition is seamless as she explodes into her approach to take a big swing.
Cerny is so athletic incredibly fun to watch. Knowing she is a 2026 and has 3 years of prep development makes that even more exciting! Cerny can push the ball all the way out to the pins with a great deal of accuracy on a very consistent basis.

Dietrich is a lefty and she caught my attention when she took a really hard and heavy swing from the right side. I think she even got my head nodding which doesn’t happen a lot. The best part is she is a setter so you know that isn’t her best skill but she definitely made the most of an opportunity!
Ellis knows how to move a ball around the court quickly. She finishes her set, pushes through and you don’t often see a ball die on its way to a pin. I love that!
Krause caught my eye when she took a nice slice just inside the block during game play. She has a nice vertical and was solid in her net play. Krause is definitely one to keep an eye on as she continues to develop.

Lord was ROCKING this showcase. Every time I made my way to her court she was making some big play. Whether she was getting off the floor quickly and hitting with a heavy arm or making a smart read to slow down the opposing attack.
Olson was hitting really nice angles around the block. She could reach high, get on top of the ball and slice it. Even more impressive was knowing she had just played for Marshfield and won their bracket in the Prep Dig Sizzle Wednesday and Thursday in Appleton, then won the Battle for the Banner Wisconsin Beach Series held in Wausau that wrapped up around 11pm on Friday night. This kid had to be tired but she showed up on Saturday in Milwaukee and put it all out there! She posses some really great intangibles! I just hope she got to sleep in today!

Ruether caught my eye in warm-up with an atheltic back row attack. I later saw her taking swings during positionals and I love how she is patient in her approach and really diligent about her timing. She is definitely a player with a high ceiling and I can’t wait to see her development over the next few years.

Van Hammond had nice footwork to get her feet to the ball. She does a good job getting around the ball and pushing the ball all the way to the outside pin. Van Hammond also got some really great defensive touches.
