There will be another update to the class, but until then, here is a look at a player from each tier in the rankings. We start with one player from spots 1-10, then move to 11-20, and all the way through. 2025 Rankings will be posted soon!
Andrew moved up just one spot, but it’s a big one, from #2 overall to #1. Lauren Dreves Lauren Dreves 6’1″ | OH Columbia River | 2024 State #46 Nation WA is in the #2 spot, and the big-time outside hitter and SEC recruit would hold that position in a regular cycle. Andrew was named to the USA National team for her age group, then proceeded to win the Best Blocker Award at the 2023 U19 Pan American Cup while helping the USA team to the gold medal. She followed that up with an anticipated commitment to play at Stanford, one of the premier volleyball schools in the country. It was a special year for Andrew and she deservedly takes the top spot in the rankings.
Wesenburg has an electric swing, the Dakine and Emerald Ridge outside has great size at six feet, and uses her strong transition to be available to terminate points. She is a strong defender and has great press as a blocker to round at her game. At her best she is exploding into the set and hitting with a superior pace that defenders cant handle.
Wilson is a heady setter with great size, excellent location, and the ability to run fast tempo. The Mead senior is committed to Cal Poly Humboldt, the ‘Jacks compete in the tough Division II CCAA Conference. Wilson has the opportunity to lead Mead back to the state tournament for a third trophy in three tries, with 2020 not having a tournament at all.
Highlights
A strong middle from Camas, Walunas has been playing against great competition her entire career. Camas and OJVA are always going to provide players with a tremendous schedule, Walunas continues to develop offensively and should have a breakout senior year. Her transition footwork was quick and sound for Oregon Juniors during club, the Papermakers look set to use that strength in the middle to their advantage.
McMaster has a skill for finding the open spots down the line or in the deep corner from the right side. Using a variety of shots, she keeps the ball in play and can get up and rip a shot when she needs to. She will keep the ball in front of her then accelerate and see the block, going around or down the line with her swing to score effectively.
Ward handled the job of setting a powerful Dakine 17 team remarkably this season, locating her hitters and letting them take advantage of her well-located sets. Ward is powerful and able to push sets to the pin with tempo, and her solid height made for an easy transition for her big middles. Her strength and athleticism (javelin thrower!) show defensively and in her serving as well.
Arland has been the main attacker for her Shockwave and Kamiakin teams for several seasons. The outside heads into her senior season looking to push the MCC power into the state tournament again. Arland has an excellent ability to take a tough set and still put a good swing on the ball- she can cut sharp angle or send an off speed tip into a tough spot to defend.
The hard charging Plumb has been a defensive force and excellent communicator this season for her Seattle Juniors team. She rolled right into a libero spot on the PSR All-Star team and has recently committed to Cal-State Stanislaus in Turlock, California.
Highlights
Wiersma’s strength is her versatility and overall athleticism. A setter with good feet, she also has a strong skillset attacking from either pin. The Glacier Peak senior is a multi-sport athlete who excels in track and field and her high jump skills bode well for her as an attacker. Her quick arm and strong block make her stand out in particular as a right side.
Glaus is a skilled outside hitter from Walla Walla and Club Gold. Watching her play you can tell her training has been solid, she reads the game well and is consistently making the correct plays on the court. She will combine with sister Sofia in her senior season, and Glaus should be the main offensive threat during the year.
