One aspect of the rankings that show a player’s hard work and focus to improve is the Stock-Risers. Making a move up even a few spots can be difficult depending on the position and talent level of the players listed. Our 2024 Rankings had a switch at the #1 and #2 spot, with one nationally ranked prospect squeezing by another, a big move at the very top of the rankings. Other players improve as they develop their skills or grow taller or physically stronger.
This particular 2025 update had tremendous movement with players being ranked only for the second time, and for the first time with a full club season of play behind them. Here is our second group of standout 2025 Stock-Risers!
Moving to the #3 ranking overall, Wiese is an energizing, physical force playing the middle position. The class overall is strong at the middle spot, Wiese climbed to the top of the rankings with her combination of physicality, intensity, and flat-out production. She scores running all the routes and snaps down the slide attack with authority. She takes a patient, deep approach and her setters have a big window to find the Eastside Catholic star, knowing she will make it work even if the location is not perfect. Wiese will get the team going when she hammers down a kill or tallies a huge stuff block, her passion for the game is fun to watch.

During the high school season, she will be the main cog in the Eagle’s starting six and may spend time attacking as well as setting. Focht showed a greater understanding of finding positive matchups for her attackers this season and continued to be tough on opposing passers from the service line.

The Bainbridge High School star made a big move in the rankings and should continue to push toward the top ten with her elite size and developing offensive game.

Reed is an early 2025 verbal commit to Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, an excellent program competing in the D-1 Western Athletic Conference. (WAC) The junior from Freemen High School is a high-flying attacker who can take over a set when the offense is flowing. Reed will step into a larger leadership role this season with the Scotties, and look to be a part of another big run at the state tournament.
Ligons had made rapid progress playing the middle spot and had elite athletic ability paired with a long and tall frame. Playing for Space Needle this season during club, Ligons was a consistent and tough blocker to beat. She can dominate in the middle for stretches, scoring in stuff blocks, quick hitters in transition, and dominating during joust situations. Although she is listed at 6 foot one inch, Ligons reach and length let her play bigger than that. The Glacier Peak junior has a high ceiling still, with her best volleyball in front of her.
Highlights
Another early verbal commit, Marrs will join her brother at Oregon State, 7 footer Gavin Marrs is a member of the incoming 2023 class on the hardwood for the Beavers. Taitano has the volleyball IQ you would expect from a coach’s kid, she will take a quick look at the defense as she is gathering herself to set and deliver to the best matchup she can find. She will find the pin when the option is there, and her PSVBA team had the attackers to convert. Taitano was effective attacking from the right side as well, and the Bellarmine Prep junior will carry that versatility into the high school season.
