Continue ReadingI get more excited each time I look at the list of players we have set to attend the Prep Dig Minnesota Stock Up Showcase on Saturday. Not only will we have Maggie Miexl from Hamline University running the show but M1 should be hopping with excitement. We have some athletes coming off big club seasons and heading into what could be their breakout high school seasons. I’ve seen some of these athletes competing anywhere from Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Kansas City, and Chicago.
Boelter is a libero with solid and consistent passing technique. She reads attackers and does a really nice job creating the best platform angle. Boelter takes care of her corners as a middle back defender or owns the middle of the court as a wing defender.

Brandl is an uncommitted 2024 setter with all the tools to play at the next level. I had her pegged as a up-and-comer when I saw her at my first Prep Dig Minnesota Showcase. I’ve had limited opportunities to see her recently so I’m definitely excited to see how she’s been developing!
Carr is a dynamic recruit out of the 2025 class. She was a top weapon for Lakeville South last season and could potentially raise her stock even more this season. Carr does not hesitate to hit the ball from a number of different angles and tempos to get the kill. She is explosive and takes a quick aggressive approach to the ball.

Cotton is a quiet but impactful player. She doesn’t make the big flashy plays but she takes care of the second contact religiously. NL 14-1 took the AAU Open Championship this year and players like Cotton make that happen. She has length and can play above the net to move the ball quickly from pin to pin. She has a lot of great intangibles and I can wait to see how she’s grown since May.
Highlights
Johnston caught my eye this past December at our Top 250 Expo. She takes a great aggressive approach and makes contact with a heavy swing. She has some great building blocks and solid technique to work with on top of a 6’0 frame.
Keaveny is a a gritty defender that I’ve also seen take some pretty smart and stellar swings. I’m not sure if she’s gearing up for a move to the pins for high school or a more permanent change in scenery. Keaveny has the drive and experience to play at the next level and she still has a couple years of prep time.
Highlights
I saw a tremendous increase in Keaveny’s location consistentcy over this past club season. Her release has always been quick but her footwork and finish have improved as well. If she keeps up at this rate she could be helping Mayer Lutheran to a trip to the X this November.

I last saw Kratochvil at the Class AA Showcase last fall and she was an attacker that knew how to generate points for her team. She is smart and crafty with a whole lot of tools at her disposal. Kratochvil may be one of the gems that has been flying under the radar for college coaches so far.

I caught Kusnier playing in Kansas City at the Show Me Qualifier and this attacker knows how to approach and take a huge rip. She looked more confident and comfortable at the net from the December Showcase I had seen her in before the club season was under way. I can’t wait to see the progress since early April.
