Our updated rankings have players from clubs all across the state making moves upward in the rankings, here are some of the biggest climbers in this latest ranking.
Poydras did her best work in big moments against tough teams, taking the big swings in and out of system and from the pipe. In a match against NPJ Seattle National, the athletic 5’10” outside from Garfield went toe to toe with the talented NPJ attackers, keeping her Sudden Impact squad in the match. Poydras has grown as a shot maker, rolling over the top of blockers from the pin or the back row to score. Her new #28 ranking has her squarely in the mix with the top 10-15 outsides in the state, surrounded by attackers with similar skill sets including Haylee Koetje Haylee Koetje 5’9″ | OH Lynden | 2024 State WA from SIVA, Maddie Finnegan Maddie Finnegan 5’8″ | OH Gonzaga Prep | 2024 State WA , and Hedia Lewis Hedia Lewis 5’10” | OH Bush | 2024 State WA .
Brown is a gamer, and the Prep Dig staff saw her in action live several times this season. What sets Brown apart from other attackers is her commitment to defense and skill in serve receive. She can swing with power and score and is everything you could want in a ball control attacker. Brown has an urgency when she gets off the net in transition, and closes on the set with speed before ripping sharp angle or deep corner. The Silas senior is set for a big senior year.

A multi-sport athlete who had a softball focus most of her career, Flerchinger had some college coaches wondering “Where did she come from?” this club season. The 5’11” senior from Shadle Park started to truly put her game together late in the 21/22 club season, then followed it up with an ALL-GSL season during her junior year. The CPA middle has a long wingspan, a whippy right arm, and the athleticism to smoke a ball on the slide. Flerchinger’s game continued to accelerate as the season wore on and her rise in the rankings to #29 reflect her continued development.

We had a chance to watch the Lynden standout play this summer with her high school squad, the gritty and athletic libero is ready to help the Lions make a big run at state. VanderYacht is a three-sport athlete, a Central Washington commit, and her foot speed makes it hard to land a tip or push a ball to the corner when she is patrolling the back row. She continues to assert herself as a leader on the floor, cutting off kill attempts when she has the angle and calling off teammates to take charge of the defense.
Cai outplayed her ranking from the December 2022 update, something we love to see when we circle back and watch players develop during their careers. NPJ Seattle 17 setters both moved up in the rankings, with Kayleigh-Shay Chang Kayleigh-Shay Chang 5’6″ | S Lake Washington | 2024 State WA and Cai in the top 12 for setters in the 2024 class.
Cai has a particularly nice feel for involving her middles, and she showed a deft touch setting up the NPJ bigs for scoring opportunities. Cai is tall enough to keep the delivery high and short to the middle attacker, and NPJ was at their best when they worked inside out. Her chemistry with Logan Remington Logan Remington 6’3″ | MB Mercer Island | 2024 State WA was terrific all season when the two were on the court together.
The fiery lefty can play setter and goes all out on defense, but her scoring ability and competitiveness shine on the right side and we rank and list her there for this update. Burchak became one of the top-scoring options for Space Needle and was the knockout left hook for her team after all the jabs from the SNVF outsides. The Shorecrest senior capped her club season playing for the PSR 17 All-Stars in Ft. Lauderdale, where the team medaled and Burchak was a major contributor to the teams success.
