The  Expo coaches watching Poydras play were shocked that the 2024 OH from Garfield is not yet committed to a college program. One longtime area coach mentioned how much improvement she has seen in the last two seasons in the seniors overall play as a six-rotation player in all phases. She has always had an amazing vertical and a big arm, her communication and focus on passing/defense was next level at the event on Saturday. Poydras was one of the first athletes coaches nominated as a top performer on the day, she was outstanding in all phases.

Blankenship-Poydras is an electric outside from Garfield High School and was named the Metro League Sound Division MVP this season. A high flyer and fierce competitor, she led the Bulldogs to the District playoffs for the first time since 2016. Blankenship-Poydras is excellent when passing-to-hit, and her overall athleticism allows her to play defense and block on the pin at a high level. The arm swing is what makes you say “wow” of course, she is quick off the floor and keeps the ball in front- then whips through it to terminate.

Poydras did her best work in big moments against tough teams, taking the big swings in and out of system and from the pipe. In a match against NPJ Seattle National, the athletic 5’10” outside from Garfield went toe to toe with the talented NPJ attackers, keeping her Sudden Impact squad in the match. Poydras has grown as a shot maker, rolling over the top of blockers from the pin or the back row to score. Her new #28 ranking has her squarely in the mix with the top 10-15 outsides in the state, surrounded by attackers with similar skill sets including Haylee Koetje Haylee Koetje 5'9" | OH Lynden | 2024 State WA from SIVA, Maddie Finnegan Maddie Finnegan 5'8" | OH Gonzaga Prep | 2024 State WA , and Hedia Lewis Hedia Lewis 5'10" | OH Bush | 2024 State WA .

Poydras is on our radar as one of the most explosive attackers in the Washington 2024 class. A great vertical and a whippy arm swing make every attack a chance for a highlight reel kill for the Sudden Impact outside hitter.

Blankenship-Poydras has explosion and the power to bring the house down with a big kill. An exciting player to watch, she has shown a sharp wrist away angle and is very quick to transition. She should shine offensively and have a big club season on the outside this year.
