Naturally, that means we’ll see some athletes who have serious impact potential at the next level. Nebraska’s Class of 2025 still features plenty of players who fit this description, and many of those are in the mix to make the 2023 postseason. Let’s identify a few.
Here are some of Nebraska’s uncommitted 2025s who are firmly in the tournament race as we inch closer to November.
Hasselbalch has thrived at the M1 spot in a variety of venues. That includes her club tenure with Nebraska ONE , which finished third in 16 Open this year. On the prep side, Hasselbalch has been a reliable middle attacker for Norris who is incredibly comfortable behind the setter. The Titans are setting up for their annual title push, and Hasselbalch will be a big part of it.
Solomon has helped operate a Papio South squad that hasn’t dropped a match all year. You can’t ask for much more than that. It’s been a momentous calendar year for Solomon ever since she took the reins of her Premier Nebraska club team. The same narrative is playing out with the Titans, and it might result in more hardware forthe ever-expanding trophy case.
Remnerfeldt already knows what it’s like to win a state championship, and she did it as a freshman. Oakland-Craig’s 2021 state title propelled this savvy setter into the spotlight right away. Since then, Remnerfeldt has remained a trendsetter by putting up some of the state’s highest assist totals among all players. Continuity will be an advantage that the Knights can wield in the final bracket.
Link brings everything you’d want from a middle blocker. She works hard on transition to expand Skutt Catholic’s attacking options after getting a dig. This versatile athlete will also rack up stats on the defensive end with her impressive physicality and blocking technique. As the SkyHawks chase nine in a row, keep tabs on Link in the middle.
Donovan has been one of Nebraska’s most statistically productive setters in her debut season as Lincoln Lutheran’s starter. That’s quite a feat. The Warriors are not just looking for another postseason appearance, of course. Donovan seems determined to guide Lincoln Lutheran’s offense to a third consecutive state championship, and the prospects look good right now.
O’Hare’s multi-faceted role with Gothenburg has made her one of the most fascinating 2025s to follow on Nebraska’s prep scene. She can play on either pin and can also be a secondary setter if needed. Regardless of position, O’Hare has been instrumental in Gothenburg’s greatest run of volleyball seasons in program history. We’ll likely add another chapter with the Swedes rolling toward a third-straight tournament trip.
What a breakout season for Harding. We had previously identified this Lincoln Southwest outside hitter as instant standout from this year’s LPS Volleyball Invite, where the Silver Hawks notched a runner-up finish. Harding’s smooth approach and quick arm give LSW a brilliant scoring outlet on the left side, and these skills ought to shine again when the Silver Hawks march toward the postseason.
Highlights
Kearney Catholic has no shortage of terminal options in the frontcourt. Dzingle emerged as a prominent contender on last year’s tournament team and has elevated her game further as an upperclassman. She’s hitting 0.335 during the 2023 campaign and has managed to increase her efficiency while receiving more swings. Dzingle and Kearney Catholic could be poised to go beyond 2022’s Class C1 quarterfinal effort.
Seward was on the championship stage last year, and this sustained success has been buoyed by indispensable leadership from the Class of 2025. Covalt is one of those valuable junior leaders who has anchored the Bluejay backcourt for a while. We saw this dynamic libero take a huge step forward during this spring’s club season. That turned out to be a precursor to Covalt’s extended defensive dominance with Seward.
