They were leading their team to big wins and for some of them, success their high schools have never seen before. Meet some of the setters from the Class of 2027 Prep Dig Iowa Watch List.
Belle Seaman Belle Seaman 5'9" | S Muscatine | 2027 IA made a splash in the MAC this year for Muscatine where the Muskies notched 23 wins this season. Her display of skill impacted the entire court where she collected nearly 900 assists. She has length, athleticism, and physicality where she can take an offensive role as a setter and can hold her own blocking as well. She was a Top Performer at our Iowa top 250 and will be one to watch for Iowa Rockets 15R this season.
Highlights
Hadley Miller Hadley Miller 5'7" | S Iowa City Liberty | 2027 IA has a really smooth skill set where she can do a little bit of everything. This past high school season she had over 500 assists and nearly 100 kills. The freshman class at Liberty is real good at multiple positions. Miller can lead the way as a setter or really any position that is needed on her side of the net. The combination of Miller and Seaman will be fun to watch this club season where Iowa Rockets 15R will be one of the top teams in the region.
The name Caffery just goes with Wilton volleyball. Ella Caffery, older sister to Leah was a standout for four years and now Leah has the keys to run the show for the Beavers. This past season she was the 5-1 setter with nearly 800 assists and over 200 digs for a team that was underclassmen heavy going 22-15. Wilton is another team to keep an eye on with a talented freshman class who will be playing together for Iowa Select 15 Mizuno this club season.
Another family with top setters would be the Geise’s out of Roland Story. Madison Geise was a standout for Roland Story and is currently playing at Drake. Younger sister Miley is already making a name for herself and the Norsemen where she had nearly 400 assists and over 100 digs. The combination of Geise and fellow freshman, Brookelyn Jondle Brookelyn Jondle OH Roland Story | 2027 IA will be ones to watch.
Janesville is always a program that is high in the ranks of Class 1A and this year the Wildcats were led by freshman setter Tayah Pollock Tayah Pollock S Janesville | 2027 IA . Pollock had over 850 assists for a team who notched 27 wins, champions of the Iowa Star Conference, and regional finalists. Pollock was one of two freshmen to be named to a Class 1A All District team.
Playing in the Little Hawkeye Conference is no joke when it comes to volleyball and Gwen Farley Gwen Farley 5'10" | S Dallas Center-Grimes | 2027 IA made her way to the All Conference list. The freshman had 700 assists in her first year with plenty of those going to another freshman attacker for DCG in Maggie Leifker Maggie Leifker 5'10" | MB Dallas Center Grimes | 2027 IA . The Mustangs return a lot of offense for 2024 and will be ones to watch out of Central Iowa.
