Continue ReadingWith rankings updates come a lot of shifts in where athletes were previously ranked. There were a handful of athletes that jumped up a significant number of spots in the 2026 rankings. Below are the athletes in the top 50 with the most movement.
Previous rank: #19Why the rise? After such a dominating performance for South Salem High School this past fall, there was no question Mathis deserved a spot in the top 10. A six-rotation outside hitter for the Saxons, she received Central Valley First Team All-Leauge for her play. She is explosive as an attacker, and with an improved attacking range, proves lethal from anywhere on the court. Her confidence across the backrow, both offensively and defensively, has improved significantly. On NPJ 16-1 National this club season, she will be competing at an incredibly high level so she is sure to continue making improvements to her game.
rnPrevious rank: #29
Why the rise? This fall with South Salem High School, Orizotti proved her elite status as a setter. Masterfully executing a 5-1 for the Saxons, she was honored with Central Valley First Team All-Leauge. She went through a bit of a growth spurt, she was 5’7” last year and her ability to set or attack across the front row has now been noted. With a soft touch and high contact point on the ball, she hides her set location well. She has honed in on her jump setting capabilities, and the improvement is showing. Playing up an age bracket and with a new club, Orizotti can be seen playing for Athena 18-1 Gold this season.
Previous rank: #45Why the rise? Skyline Player of the Year, Bitzer had a dominant sophomore season for Mazama High School. To be a sophomore and receive this high of an honor is an incredibly impressive feat. Even harder to believe when compounded with the fact that she broke her collarbone last fall. She is aggressive and quick in transition, making herself consistently available to her setters. Her court vision is next level, she showcases lots of finesse with her ability to score points on well placed tips. This club season she is playing for Rise 17-1 Flagship.
Previous rank: #58Why the rise? Transferring to Barlow High School this fall, Savage was a critical piece of the Bruins line up as one of their outside hitters, playing opposite 2024 standout Olivia Brown Olivia Brown 5’9″ | OH Barlow | 2024 State OR . She received Mt. Hood Honorable Mention for her play. With some serious hops and athleticism, when she connects with the ball it is deadly. Savage has a lot of untapped potential. Only a sophomore, I am eager to see her continued improvement this club season with Excel 16-1 Lux.
Previous rank: #60Why the rise? Riggs is a 5’10” setter from Corvallis, OR. She showcased a ton of improvement last club season setting a 6-2 for G3 16-1 National. Transitioning into high school season, she set for Corvallis. Over the course of a year, her setting technique has improved a lot, and with that her confidence and leadership on the court. With 2025 setter Alexa Schnell Alexa Schnell 5’7″ | S Corvallis | 2025 State OR moving up to the 18s division, Riggs is sure to carry a heavier load this season returning to G3 16-1.
