Behind the Scenes of the 2027 Watchlist Release

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It is hard to believe we are releasing a class of 2027 Watchlist already! We have had eyes on this class since last summer and are excited to provide even more content for this awesome class of athletes. Here is a behind-the-scenes look at how we built this watchlist. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">1. We have not even scratched the surface.</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We have not even gotten close to scratching the surface for our watch list and eventual rankings for this class. We use many resources when building our watch list, but mostly, we use our notes and content from events. We know that this is not a comprehensive list, that is why we update it numerous times per year. Remember that there have only been a few weeks of club volleyball tournaments for us to cover, so this list will continue to grow rapidly over the years. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2. The talent is eye-catching.</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This class is already turning heads. Some athletes have already had a huge impact at the state level, including setter [player_tooltip player_id='435900' first='Payton' last='Scifres'] and pin hitter [player_tooltip player_id='484915' first='Abigail' last='Weidmayer'], who earned Division 1 All-State honorable mention. Pin hitter [player_tooltip player_id='459898' first='Aubrey' last='Frey'] earned Division 2 2nd Team All-State Honors. [player_tooltip player_id='345274' first='Lauren' last='Sprague'] is a pin hitter who has played up on the Madtown 17-1 National team for the past two seasons. This is just the tip of the iceberg for what this class will accomplish during their prep careers. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">3. The players are widespread.</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>At this point, we have players from over 15 clubs represented on the watch list and from across the state. [player_tooltip player_id='486548' first='Chloe' last='Medenblik'] is a 6'1" lefty right-side hitter playing at the 16s level for Tenacity in western Wisconsin. [player_tooltip player_id='485131' first='Lilliani' last='Big Eagle'] from [program_tooltip program_id='428591' first='FC' last='Elite'] is a gritty and scrappy setter who dishes out dimes to every one of her hitters. [player_tooltip player_id='510475' first='Ivy' last='Boelk'] from [program_tooltip program_id='428662' first='Wisconsin' last='Ice'] will make waves as an athletic and powerhouse middle blocker. [player_tooltip player_id='483665' first='Addison' last='Schmidt'] is a physical and athletic middle out of Rice Lake. [player_tooltip player_id='435893' first='Kahlen' last='Willis'] is a versatile right side who plays for Westosha Central and Sky High. And we haven't even touched the talent in the greater Milwaukee and Madison areas with this list. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">4. We still have more work to do. </h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This list is a great starting point for our eventual rankings; however, as scouts, we still have more work to do. We will be out at tournaments across the state and the country. There are many ways to get on our radar, including by attending events, posting your playing schedules, and creating a profile on our site! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">5. We are AMPED about this class. </h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>If you can't tell, we are super excited about the volleyball that will be played with the class of 2027!
