We firmly believe that this transcends mere highlights, offering colleges a deeper understanding of the athlete as a whole. This article also offers players, parents, and coaches a window into the character of our prospects. I am class of 2028 and 14 years old. I am 5'4” tall and have been playing volleyball for 4 years. I am going to be attending Mater Dei High School. I play for Forza1 North volleyball club and on the 14-one's team. My position is Libero/Ds, but prefer to play Libero. I started playing volleyball, because my older sister made me join one of her practices, which sparked a flame for my volleyball career. One practice is all it took- I fell in love with it!u003c/pu003ernu003cp class=u0022p1u0022u003eAn inspirational quote I follow in volleyball is, “I'm not the most talented. I'm not the tallest. I'm not the biggest, but I work the hardest” Kobe Bryant. I practice 4-5 times a week 3-4 hours a day. It gives me confidence to go for everything, no matter how hard it may SEEM, and makes me very persistent as a defensive player. It makes me want to go for every ball, because if I don't, then who knows if I could have gotten it up. You miss 100% of shots if you don't try! I will be competing in the Farwestern National Qualifier in Reno, Nevada in April in open division. I am also competing in all local SCVA tournaments in Southern California. This is only my second year in club volleyball, but it has become my passion. My favorite feeling is getting the perfect pass to feed a great set that ends with a monster kill. I approach each game believing that every ball is playable. This do or die mentality helps me to be a spark plug on my team, and I am blessed with amazing teammates.u003c/pu003ernu003cp class=u0022p1u0022u003eWe only had four returning players this year, so building team unity was important. At the beginning of the season, my team went to Stanford to watch them take on Oregon. I left inspired with the drive to play at the next level. Putting in extra work outside of team practice with position-specific training, has allowed me to develop quick feet and the ability to cover a lot of range on the court. I am averaging 3.4 digs per set, 2 assists per match, and a 2.23 passing percentage per match.u003c/pu003ernu003cp class=u0022p1u0022u003eWhen I am not on the court, I maintain a 4.0 GPA and love dancing and cooking. I am also the reigning gold medalist in all 4 strokes and the IM, for my age group, in the City of Stockton. I was the first female athlete in the city to achieve this honor. My favorite plays are running down a ball and doing whatever I can to get it up or over.u003c/pu003ernu003cp class=u0022p1u0022u003eWhen I am not training or practicing for indoor volleyball, I also love to play beach volleyball. I play for South Bay Sand and for the Mira Costa High School beach team as well. I enjoy being creative and doing art projects. I am currently in AP Art at my high school. When I was younger, I played multiple sports including soccer, softball and basketball.
