The Top Pins in the 2025 Class

Eleven of our top 20 play the pins and of those seven have already committed to play college, two playing for big ten schools. appeared in the gold bracket in every qualifier they have played in is a testament to her ability to create an offense.  Whether it is front row or back row she can put some velocity on the ball.  When you have an approach jump that reaches 10'6u0022 hitting over the block becomes that much easier.  Last year there were times when she experienced passing break downs, but you accept those for the offense she creates in the back row.  No surprise that at the Capitol Hill Classic she earned the MVP award for her offense.  She also won player of the year in high school for the Concorde has committed to Michigan.  Early in her career she began as a middle.  In my opinion she could hit the quicks better than any middle in the area.  She converted to outside with a move to Metro a couple years ago.  There were some early struggles getting used to the higher sets but with more repetition became greater consistency.  Her approach jump also reaches 10'6u0022.  The conversion to outside also happened at Langley where her hitting led the Saxons to the Class 6 state championship last year.  She can play six rotations, though Metro will rotate her out in the back row for a defensive for Montgomery County after leading the Rockets to their first state championship.  In the finals of the high school state championship match she finished with 22 kills, 16 assists and 11 digs, a triple outside to give Langley the Class 6 Virginia State championship.  She plays all six rotations for both Langley and Virginia Elite.  Her approach jump of 9'8u0022 may not reach the level of Lameen or Leni, but she more than makes up for that with a long arm extension.  She has also inched to 6'1u0022.  That is her pictured above (number needed an impactful outside to replace her. They called on [player_tooltip player_id='181300' first='Alexis' last='Ewing'], the daughter of Patrick Ewing. Alexis has vastly improved her game over the years to beome an impactful player. She has more confidence in her game which brings more consistency in her attacks. I have not seen her back row play this year, but last year it showed improvement. Virginia Juniors gave her opportunities, but when the score got into the late 20s a defensive specialist normally came in for her. She definitely brings a long arm extension to her swings and at 6'3" she flies high above the net. The duo allows [program_tooltip program_id='494409' first='Blue' last='Ridge'] to rank in the top 100 nationally (65) according to Advanced Event System (AES), finishing in the top three in five of the tournaments they have played in and fifth out of over 60 teams in the Capitol Hill Classic. Berkeley won first team honors in the class 4B Region as well as the Northwestern District.
