16 High-Flying Pins Who Impressed at the Gauntlet

I will forever be impressed by pin hitters whose verticals make them soar. They have so much control and raw athleticism. The Gauntlet was filled with so much talent. Everywhere I turned, I was frantically taking notes and pictures to try and capture the high-level volleyball on each court! Here are high-flying pins who impressed at the Gauntlet.    Tamia was explosive at the Gauntlet. She has a huge vertical and mixes up her shots incredibly well. [program_tooltip program_id='431567' first='Adversity' last=''] went 4-2 on the weekend, and Tamia was a huge part of their success. She used her athleticism to elevate above opposing blockers and outpace defenses. Tamia is not currently committed and will be a huge pick-up in the class of 2025.     Teegan is another 2025 who is not committed. She is one of the best 6-rotation pins in her class in Wisconsin. Teegan has a high volleyball IQ and is great on offense, defense, and serve receive. She is well-rounded and has so much potential to have an impact at the next level.     Mesaiya was incredible to see live. She is already playing like she is at a college level. The way she doesn't give away her shots until the very last moment makes her nearly impossible to defend. Mesaiya's line shot was near-perfect. She swung over some of the biggest blockers at the tournament and made it look easy.     Hannah was such a high-impact player throughout the tournament. She seemed to take flight whenever she took her approach. What really set her apart was her balanced attack. She made smart, split-second choices, and you could see her adjust her swings to the block in front of her.     Bella was relentless at the tournament. She made some jaw-dropping plays on day 2. Her vertical is sky-high, and she makes consistent hand contact with the ball. She never misses a beat and gives everything she has to her team in every single play. Bella is also a solid passer and adds value in all six rotations.     Lilly might have had one of the biggest verticals at the tournament. She was so impressive and played all six rotations. Her raw athletic talent and potential are absolutely mind-blowing. Lilly was a go-to hitter who was fearless on the court. She made big plays in big moments and was really fun to watch.     Karsyn is a right side on the same Circle City team as Lilly Abney and they are quite a dynamic duo of pins. Karsyn uses every opportunity she has to manufacture points for her team. Her massive vertical and explosive approach makes her swings that much more powerful.     Ella brings such a balance of energy and consistency to the court. She is very powerful and uses every inch of her vertical to elevate over opposing blocks. Ella impressed me with her court awareness and shot selection. She always had something different in her pocket which helped her earn points efficiently.     Faith was an impact athlete in all six rotations at the Gauntlet. She always made herself available as an offensive weapon for her team. Because she was always an option, it helped her setters spread the offense better and gave the team better options for getting kills. Faith was also impressive on serve receive and defense.     My notes on Kalia from the Gauntlet were, "She absolutely flies." And it is so true. Kalia is a 6-rotation outside, and her setters will find her wherever she is. She has an explosive approach, massive vertical, and a keen eye for placing the ball well with power. She made a huge impact on every play for 1st Alliance, who won the 15s division of the Gauntlet.     Aubrey is a high-level pin who was key for FC this past weekend. She is steady and confident on defense and serve receive, but she quickly transitions into an explosive athlete on offense. Aubrey balances the game so well, keeping plays simple when needed, like on serve receive, and then transitioning into a huge attack.     Ava is absolutely electric to watch on the court. She is a high-flying energizer and a natural leader on the court. She knows how to use every set to her advantage and is incredibly fast. Ava has awesome court awareness and mixes up her shots well. She is a go-to hitter on her team and always finds a way to manufacture points.     Jordyn is a player to watch in this class. She is ranked 11th in Michigan, and with good reason. Jordyn was impressive throughout the weekend because she consistently delivered on offense and defense. Her swings were absolutely lethal and nearly impossible to stop.     Elleora plays with some of the best vision and maturity that I saw in this division. She was smart and savvy yet so insanely powerful. It is honestly hard to believe she is only 15. She adjusted well to the blocks in front of her and was always ready to manufacture points. She had some of the biggest power in the 15s division, and she was key to her team's 2nd place finish.     Josslyn never missed a beat on the court. She made momentum-changing plays in big moments and was reliable even at pivotal points in a match. Josslyn caught my eye several times throughout the tournament, and I was impressed with her each time I stopped by her court.     Bobbi was a relentless competitor at the Gauntlet. She showed grit and tenacity throughout the weekend. Bobbi played all six rotations and carried a heavy offensive load for her team in both the front and back row. She was always engaged and found a way to make herself available to manufacture points for her team.
