Past Prep Dig Nebraska Showcase Standouts Heading to GJNC

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While looking ahead to our summer showcases, let's draw some connections to the July club season finale.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We have fond memories of our Prep Dig Showcase “alums.” I've been fortunate enough to cover our showcases for the past few years, and the list of past participants keeps getting stronger. In fact, several showcase standouts are competing for GJNC crowns this July.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>So, before we take on our next wave of showcases, we're taking a trip through the past. That was a while ago, but Hasselbalch revealed her adaptability as a middle blocker and a right-side hitter. She has a similar hybrid role with [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] 17 Synergy, which clinched another Open bid in Chicago. Hasselbalch is amassing some strong reps with a lot of different attacking routes in her arsenal. Her club journey has taken this middle blocker to Premier 17 Gold, which clinched a 17 National bid through the Great Plains Region. Last year's prep season gave us a glimpse of Baker's unmatched energy and effort in the front row. The Millard West athlete also used one of our showcase events to prove she was ready to take that next step. We saw all these things materialize when she was a showcase participant, and it's paying even bigger dividends with [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] 17 Black. The Columbus native contributed to a bid-earning triumph at the Windy City Qualifier--a tough qualifier in any division. She helped pilot the Omaha Skutt Catholic offense as the SkyHawks continued their historic championship streak. Before that, Anderson was a smooth setter on the Prep Dig Circuit who dazzled us with her quick pace and accurate location. This [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] star finds multiple ways to contribute to her club team's efforts, and it all came together for an Open bid in Salt Lake City. She made an early entry into the prep spotlight as she became a major freshman contributor for Adams Central. That was in 2022, and DeJonge has elevated her game a lot more. Her impressive on-court leadership was a talking point after her appearance at a Prep Dig Showcase. DeJonge is also reaching new heights with South Central NE 16 Black and has claimed back-to-back Liberty bids through the Show Me Qualifier. The Tri-County standout has put up big numbers for her high school squad and is equally impactful with [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 16 Elite. We could see that potential when she suited up to compete on the Prep Dig Circuit and locked down the end line in team reps. 16 Elite needed a comeback effort to earn its bid, and it wouldn't have been possible without some defensive grit. She put her physicality and technique on display as one of the most dominant middle blockers in the gym. Erwin has climbed the ladder with Premier Nebraska since then, offering a huge spark to the Premier 16 Black offense. We documented the team's extraordinary run through the Great Plains Region Bid Tournament, and Erwin was in the middle of it all.
