On Tuesday, we followed the non-district match between the Fulshear Chargers and the Ridge Point Panthers.

Playing at home, the Chargers were dominant in the first two sets, saw the Panthers come back in the third set, but were able to stop their reaction to secure a 3-1 (25-14, 25-16, 24-26, 25-23) victory and improve to 15-2 in the season - Ridge Point now have a 12-8 record.

James helped create the conditions for Fulshear's dominant performance with her excellent game at the setter position. Besides doing a great job with her locations, she was impeccable with her distribution, keeping all her hitters involved and getting the ball to the right players in the key moments. James also contributed to the team's point-scoring, getting a couple of aces in important moments, playing aggressively with her setter dumps and doing solid work with her blocking. The setter was one of the main voices heard on the court when Fulshear was threatened by Ridge Point, keeping her teammates calm and focused.

Because of Fulshear's dominant performance in the first two sets, the dynamic outside hitter wasn't as involved as usual at the start of the match, but she was ready to step up when her team needed her. Warren was Fulshear's go-to scoring option in the third and fourth sets and was extremely successful with her swings. Ridge Point had no answers to her athleticism and firepower and the senior outside hitter was also intelligent enough to avoid being blocked or making many errors in difficult situations. Warren was also extremely stable with her passing and came up big with timely digs at the end of the fourth set.

Witte's steady production was a major asset for Fulshear, who got consistent production from her from the start to the end of the match. The explosive outside hitter didn't hold anything back when she saw an opportunity to swing hard, but was incredibly intelligent and resourceful to score off of tips, roll shots or tooling the block when that wasn't the case. Witte also got aces in key moments of the match, giving her team room to breathe during the sets. Her passing was always reliable and gave her team a lot of offensive stability.

The defensive specialist did an excellent job off the bench, making a positive impact on the team every time she entered the match. Lednicky was brought in to replace the team's right side hitter on the back row and connected extremely well with libero [player_tooltip player_id='179896' first='Sydney' last='Black'], splitting passing duties and generating transition plays with her defense. She also had good serving runs on most occasions when she was at the service line.

Robinson was one of the few Ridge Point players to be able to play at a solid level during the first two sets of the match. Her offense was steady and she also did a good job with her blocking, getting some stops at the net. When the Panthers had setting issues during the second set, she started operating as a setter when she was on the back row and, despite being called for a few doubles, her team's offense flowed smoother with her in that role. Robinson's offense improved again in the third and fourth sets, being a big factor in Ridge Point's best moments in the match.

Rogers didn't have a great start to the match, even making some uncharacteristic technical errors during the first two sets. She found her game in the third set and her growth brought the Panthers back to the match. The outside hitter was unstoppable at times, mixing up hard-driven swings and intelligent tips extremely well to put the ball down. Her passing was solid all match too and she made some nice digs. As Rogers changed her behavior on the court, getting more confident, her attitude positively impacted the team's mood, showing the huge leadership role she has.

Playing at the pin, Menefee was probably Ridge Point's player who best dealt with the team's difficult start, finding interesting options to score in difficult situations. Instead of trying to overpower Fulshear's blockers, she used tips and shots to tool the block to put the ball down, with significant success. Menefee played only the net rotations, but did a fine job when she was targeted by Fulshear's serves, handling her passing duties with great efficiency.
