With 20,000 votes, Weiseman was by far the most popular choice among our readers. The Monroe product is averaging 8.0 a/s to start the 2024 campaign, assuming more distribution responsibility this sesaon. She also adds 10 digs per match. She can do a lot for her team as she was an offensive threat with her arm in previous seasons while also lending her skills in terms of floor leadership and ability to dish and control the offense. Weiseman has some of the best high hand contact with elevation to the point of delivering the ball as her touch is soft and simple in her ability to get the ball anywhere through both pins.

Smith arrived on our radar over the club season as she shared the setting role for her Mintonette team that competed well all season. She commands the court well and has good quickness and movement to pursue the second touch, with an efficient and effective form and skill set that is the expected qualities of Mintonette setters. With over 15,600 total votes, she finished second in this reader poll. The primary floor leader for River View this high school season, Smith is averaging over 10 assists per frame, which is increased production from a season ago. The Black Bears are 5-1 in conference play.

Sauer comes in third in total votes received at nearly 5,500. The sophomore has assumed a much bigger role in Northview's offense and is offering up seven assists per set. She puts up a good ball and shows good balance in her distribution based upon Northview's personal that includes strength in the middle phase. As Sauer saw some healthy action as an attacker during the club season, she continues to establish herself as a good two-way prospect in her ability to distribute the ball as well as take big swings at the pins when needed. Northview is currently 2-2 in league play and will next face Steele this weekend.

The 5'11 Matheny (*pictured) is currently our top-rated prospect in the Ohio 2026 class, receiving over 5,000 votes from our readers in this poll. For multiple seasons she has shown why her Mintonette club team has been among the nation's best with her at the helm of a very dangerous and deep offense. Approaching 1,000 assists for her varsity career at Bishop Hartley, Matheny's numbers are up in 2024 as the Hawks are 7-2 overall with her as the primary distributor this season. She contributes well on defense while also leading her team at the service line. Her competitive experience is among the best as she knows how to compete and win and her presence on the court creates immediate advantages.

Laaper comes in at #5 in this poll after receiving over 4,000 votes. Another 2027 prospect to make this short list, she is also the third athlete to represent Mintonette in this top-five of our Ohio setters poll. She was the other half of Mintonette's setting duo for their top 15U team that generated a lot of success through some great offensive threats that made up their roster. The quality of her tempo and location is a result of her moving well around the court to get her hands to the ball in consistent position to put her attackers into good situations. Coshocton is 3-3 overall to start 2024 as Laaper handles the offense currently averaging 7.4 a/s.
