We'll talk a lot more about student-athletes in this cycle heading into and during the upcoming club campaign. Until then, here are seven performers that stuck out during live scouting of the Iowa prep volleyball season.

If you play on our kid's team for two years, you receive a lot of exposure to scouting. Galloway is one of the aforementioned young people who improved a ton from her freshman season up to now. She could take over matches as a sophomore. Galloway topped 5A 10th-graders by hitting .342 with 190 kills. She ranked third in the class with 65.0 blocks and second in solo blocks (25). Galloway makes a difference when she's in the rotation. In addition to her statistics, she changes how teams prepare for the Little Hawks. And even when she's not getting a kill or block, she's in the minds of folks on the other side of the net, whether they're attacking or defending.

Miller is another difference-maker on the court. She earned a reputation as a wall in the back row as a ninth-grader, so opponents avoided her when possible in '24. Still, Miller led 5A sophomores with 550 digs, raising her career total to 1,153 with two years to go. She possesses the skills and abilities that make a strong back-row performer. Miller has sharp reflexes, helping her dig up big attacks headed her way. She's quick laterally and reads plays well in order to be properly positioned. Miller's passes are consistently on the money.

Farley brings valuable height and length to her position. They help her in being a multi-dimensional setter that contributes greatly to her team's cause. Her main responsibility is helping the attackers finish. Missioned accomplished. Her 1,061 assists were more than any sophomore in the state and the fourth most among all players. On top of that, Farley's 336 digs were more than any other setter in Iowa. She also contributed 81 kills and 14.0 blocks. She's technically sound with a good feel for the game.

It feels like Vogt is just scratching the surface of her immense potential. She's still has room to add strength and sharpen her skills. That's saying something when considering she led 5A sophomores with 386 kills in helping her team reach the state championship match. Vogt impacted matches defensively, too, coming up with 223 digs and 57.0 blocks. She benefits from long arms and athleticism along with being fundamentally solid.

Klein helped the Maroons reach the state tournament with one of the most well-rounded games in Iowa. She ranked third among 5A ninth-graders with 322 kills (.227). She was 12th in blocks (46.0) and 16th in digs (192). Klein features a mature game already with plenty of time to expand it. She's physically strong and generates power with her swing. Klein is athletic and communicates well with her teammates through six rotations.

Austen owns the top swing among sophomores in the state. It's up there among the best regardless of class. She ranked fourth among 5A sophomores with 306 kills (.233), pounding out 32 of them in a five-set victory against rival City High. Austen explodes off of the court, rises well above the net and can hang in the air. It allows her to direct her powerful swings into openings in the defense. The rest of Austen's game took a step forward as well this season. Her 235 digs were tied for the sixth most in 5A, and she also chipped in 30.0 blocks.

Jones enjoyed a breakout season for the Wahawks. Her 251 kills ranked seventh among 5A sophomores, and she finished 17th with 173 digs. Jones stands out for her explosiveness and athleticism with a developing set of skills. Her consistency improved from her freshman to sophomore season, particularly when she was attacking.
