Our Nebraska 2027 rankings just got a major overhaul with our Top 25 morphing into a Top 80. Many new ranked names came from the watch list in the prior version of our list, so we have several surging athletes to discuss in the next week.

We're kicking off that conversation with the setters.

Bowman made one of the most dramatic climbs of any player in the 2027 rankings. The Grand Island Northwest standout churned out nearly ten assists per set while guiding one of Nebraska's most efficient offenses this fall. The Vikings also let Bowman rack up some swings on the right pin--a true demonstration of her aggressive style. This 2027 was already an early watch list addition after her brilliant performances with [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'], but Bowman's GINW reps have locked in her stock-riser status.

Kvols earned a spot on our inaugural 2027 watch list when she became Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's starting setter as a freshman. She maintained her big role in Year 2 and brought even better production and distribution. Kvols finished just shy of ten assists per set and knew when to find the hot hand in the frontcourt. This multi-sport athlete is building off a 28-5 campaign with the Bears and could see the tournament spotlight in 2025.

Speaking of the tournament, we have to give a nod to Central Valley's sophomore signal-caller. Wood piloted the Cougars to a straight-set quarterfinal win over Amherst and nearly pulled off a stunner against undefeated Leyton. Her precise location provided ample scoring opportunities for Central Valley's attackers, and Wood wasn't afraid to put down a few kills in the front row. The Cougars will have everyone's attention on the small-town scene as Wood and her team look for a repeat trip to Lincoln.

We won't soon forget Snider's high-impact 15s club season with Nebraska Elite. Through a combination of expert distribution and wicked serving, Snider guided her club squad to an Open bid through the Northern Lights Qualifier. She then represented Omaha Westside in the fall season and brought more of the game-changing serves that made her a force with Nebraska Elite. Snider is likely next in line for Westside's starting setter role and could soon become a household name in Class A.

We documented Elfgren's seamless transition to Overton's starting setter role in 2024. Taking over for a defending state champion isn't easy, but this savvy sophomore helped maintain Overton's high standards en route to the Class D2 semifinals. Elfgren dished out nine assists per set for the Eagles and was an eager defender in the right-back area. In our quest to include small-town talents in the 2027 rankings, Elfgren was an easy choice.

Moulton helped dish out a strong Omaha Concordia offense this fall, continuing an impressive year-long journey for the sophomore setter. We were drawn to Moulton's leadership and pinpoint setting when she competed with Club Legacy in early 2024. She has a knack for nailing the right tempo to her hitters and establishes iron-clad connections with her middle blockers. Moulton's recent standout performances at our showcase events have kept her on our radar heading into 2025.

Riggert appears due for a breakout junior campaign with a growing Pierce High School powerhouse. Her Bluejays made another run to the Class C1 semifinals and have all the pieces to repeat that feat in 2025. Riggert demonstrated her setting prowess with [program_tooltip program_id='429192' first='MVP' last='United'] during the spring season and excelled on the Prep Dig Circuit. Moreover, she brings a wicked arm that can score on the right pin. Versatility is a major plus as Riggert continues her upward trend.
