[program_tooltip program_id='431537' first='Midwest' last='Penguins'] 17 Elite

[program_tooltip program_id='431537' first='Midwest' last='Penguins'] 17 Elite has been on an absolute rampage so far this season. They set the tone for their season when they won the 17/18 Open division of the Resolution before heading to Honolulu, Hawaii, for the Trans-Pacific Championships. The team finished in the gold bracket in 5th place. The core of this team has been together since they were 11s, and their chemistry was apparent on the court. This team likes to have fun but plays at a very high level. They had numerous top performers, including [player_tooltip player_id='504437' first='Kylee' last='Zell'], Samantha Laclair, [player_tooltip player_id='277435' first='Hannah' last='Padilla'], and [player_tooltip player_id='277437' first='Olivia' last='Witon']. This team also boasts some incredibly strong defenders in [player_tooltip player_id='236329' first='Gracie' last='Fregien'] and [player_tooltip player_id='277439' first='Caroline' last='Abbott']. This roster is packed with passionate and talented athletes who all contribute in a positive way.

[program_tooltip program_id='486375' first='Sting' last='United 17 Red']

This was the only Badger Region team to make the gold division at the Winter Classic. [program_tooltip program_id='486375' first='Sting' last='United 17 Red'] is another team with a lot of familiar faces from past years. They are a powerhouse team with numerous well-rounded and 6-rotation athletes. [player_tooltip player_id='247272' first='Sari' last='Marks'] and [player_tooltip player_id='249623' first='Addie' last='Oeth'] are two stand-out athletes on this team. Both are setters who can swing on the right side. Sari is lethal on either pin and can terminate both in and out of system. Their back row is anchored by [player_tooltip player_id='388461' first='Sophia' last='Trias'] and [player_tooltip player_id='522880' first='Kendall' last=''] Scadden, who can both play across the back row. [player_tooltip player_id='388467' first='Mallory' last='Hartwig'] is a 6-rotation athlete who can earn points across the front and back row. She is a player with great court vision and can adjust well on every play. Cambel Drapeau is a talented middle who is a new face on this team. She puts up a massive block and has great form and consistent timing.

Sting 17 Gold

Sting 17 Gold is a great mix of veterans and new faces. They handily won the silver division at the Winter Classic and narrowly missed out on the gold division. [player_tooltip player_id='403531' first='Addison' last='Buckner'] and Madeline Brown were both huge contributors to DSHA's 3rd straight state championship this past season. They faced off against their now teammates from Sussex-Hamilton, [player_tooltip player_id='249651' first='Emily' last='Zgonc'] and [player_tooltip player_id='249644' first='Brooke' last='Baldwin']. This team has no shortage of talent, including Maryland commit [player_tooltip player_id='249678' first='Marlee' last='Sivak'], who is one of the best 6-rotation pins in the state in any class. They are loaded with defensive talent in West Virginia commit [player_tooltip player_id='522165' first='Cassie' last='Bruns'] and Cal-Berkeley commit [player_tooltip player_id='277424' first='Siena' last='MacCudden']. [player_tooltip player_id='388453' first='Ambryn' last='Aanonsen'] is a 6'0" lefty right side who adds a lot of depth on the pin.

I AM VBC 17 Red

This team shows a lot of grit. They are currently undefeated in the Badger Region Power League and were highly competitive in the open division of the Winter Classic. They are playing a tough schedule this season and absolutely have the talent to do well throughout the season. [player_tooltip player_id='249633' first='Anya' last='Mikhailenko'] has been a force to be reckoned with for I AM. She is a six-rotation setter and hitter who can take massive rips on the ball. She also has an insanely high volleyball IQ and earns smart points off of setter tips. [player_tooltip player_id='249652' first='Emy' last='Miller'] is a reliable and scrappy libero in the back row. She is an athlete who has been on our radar for several years for her well-rounded and consistent play. Ava Burt is a middle who is really fun to watch play. Her blocking is a great first line of defense for her team.
