Sydney is currently an unranked prospect in the 2028 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because I have not released them yet. She plays volleyball at Cornerstone Christian High School and plays club for the Alamo volleyball program. I am not sure that there is a more athletic and faster setter than Miss Whisenton in her grad class. There were quite a few things that stood out to me when I watched her ball out with her team. She does not seem to get flustered during crucial moments in tough matches and that bodes well for anyone who goes into battle with her. College coaches will absolutely fall in love with her physical skill set on the court, but I think when they watch her more closely, they will see exactly what I see and that is a very fierce competitor who can do it all on the court and never give up. With hands as soft as she has, her touch on the ball just makes the ball float out so smoothly to each location. She can change speed and trajectory of the ball so well that it almost seems that she has the experience of a senior already. Another aspect that I truly loved about her play is how fast and balanced she was tracking down the ball. You can tell the core of her body is so strong when she is hardly ever out of position with her posture at the point of contact, especially in defensive transition. She is a special one and I cannot wait to rank this class and see where she falls with what I have seen in her play.

Charli is currently an unranked prospect in the 2028 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because I have not released them yet. She plays volleyball at Salado High School and plays club for the Austin Junior volleyball program. Miss Niu not only stood out because of her lengthy and strong frame, which will attract a lot of attention from college coaches this year, she also had the skill set to make you stay and watch her play. I stopped by her court to check out her team for the first time this year and I caught myself writing down a ton of notes on Charli's skill set. Standing at six foot one at this young age, most would think that she is goofy footed and slow, but you would be sorely mistaken to think that is how she moves. This young lady is already playing at an open level speed in the first tournament of the year and everyone better catch up to her or she will leave you in the rear view mirror. Armed with impeccable timing and location of each set, she is capable of being very highly ranked when I release the State Ranking List soon. This phenom should never come off of the court as she can battle at the net and save so many balls from being overpassed and turn them into a “three pass” to run her middle. The way she trains with some of the best coaches in the central Texas area in club and at SetterU tell me and everyone watching that this young lady means business. Get to know her now and start recruiting her or you will miss out on the next big thing.

Hana is currently an unranked prospect in the 2029 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays volleyball at Krimmel Intermediate School and plays club for the [program_tooltip program_id='510661' first='Houston' last='Skyline'] volleyball program. Normally we do not highlight any middle school athletes because we like to wait until they reach the high school ranks, but Hana's play truly stood out amongst her peers. When you learn her journey and story of coming back from ACL surgery and see her play now being fully released, it lets you know that there is a strong spirit inside of her and a very strong family behind her perseverance. The way she moved on the court showed that she is back at top speed and should be feared by anyone who goes up against her. The fact that she is playing up an age group, starting, and not coming off of the court should tell you a lot about how everyone respects her ability. She has fantastic hands that can replicate solid contact over and over with each assist attempt. To see her have this super high volleyball IQ at such a young age is truly remarkable. I watched her make the correct delivery decision each time against some top competition in more than one match this weekend. Hana has the ability to be one of the top setters in her grad class for years to come and we will definitely keep watching her journey and you should also.
