<p>It's why I'm glad to have stumbled on the <a href="https://www.saltyvb.com/#:~:text=As%20of%20now%2C%20the%20primary,most%20of%20the%20midweek%20practices.">Salty volleyball club</a>, which practices at Northwestern College in Orange City and also at Boyden-Hull High School. Its rosters are filled with a lot of really good players. </p>

<p>We continue our 2025 Club Team Spotlights here at Prep Dig Iowa by taking a look at the Salty 16s. This group is made up of players that have already made a mark in high school ball despite only being freshmen and sophomores. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='741263' first='Morgan' last='Kooiman'] earned third-team Class 3A all-state laurels as a Western Christian freshman in 2024. She cranked out 347 kills (.324) and came up with 93.0 blocks as the Wolfpack reached the state title match. </p>

<p>Western's [player_tooltip player_id='741262' first='Breslyn' last='Kooima'] shines in the Salty back row. She's coming off a sophomore season with 241 digs. Her classmate, [player_tooltip player_id='741260' first='Hadley' last='Dekkers'], should step into a bigger role next season after contributing as a sophomore on the varsity. </p>

<p>A pair of sophomores at Cherokee Washington show up on the Salty roster. [player_tooltip player_id='574225' first='Addy' last='Wolfswinkel'] contributes all around the court as evidence by a 10th-grade year that saw her pile up 350 assists, 164 kills, 213 digs and 35.0 blocks. [player_tooltip player_id='493982' first='Deidra' last='Doeden'] is a force in the middle of the net as she showed with 186 kills (.330) and 116.0 blocks last season. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='493978' first='Elsie' last='Hoegh']'s 296 kills led Boyden-Hull in its run to the state tournament. She added 111 assists and 255 digs as a 10-grader in '24. </p>

<p>Taylor DeRocher helped Hinton get back to the state tournament last season. She delivered 61.0 blocks to go with 47 kills. </p>

<p>Jorgia VanDeBerg was a sophomore in the rotation for a Sioux Center squad that pushed Western Christian to five sets at the state tournament. She contributed 71 kills, 61 digs and 31.0 blocks. [player_tooltip player_id='741261' first='Brielle' last='Hoegh'] is a rising freshman that saw action on the MOC-Floyd Valley varsity in '24. </p>
