6-0 and Over 2028s on Watch List, Part 1

The state produces a good number of players with height and this class is no exception as 13 players off the watch list stand at 6-0 and above. We broke down seven of them in this list.    Patton is tied for the tallest player on this list at 6-2. She came into the season with high expectations for Conner in the fall and came through making a big impact at the net. Patton takes full advantage of her size to go up and pound down balls from difficult angles to block at both the pins and the middle. Patton's line drive serves and blocking are also big for the Cougars. She's also tough on overpassed balls.     Roose ties for the tallest on this list. She is looking for something for the new head coach at Notre Dame to build around this fall. Roose goes up and smacks balls down with a purpose. Her determination on the court is commendable. Roose's growth will only benefit the Pandas this fall.     Grant has been working on different ways to dominate the net for the A.51 team. Her enthusiasm on the court is contagious with her teammates. She does a good job reading hitters and setting up double blocks to at least get touches on the ball. She goes up strong and has a great follow-through to send balls screaming to the floor. She'll be tough for years to come if she keeps developing.     Morgan is dynamic in the sense she can swing with both hands. Morgan showed a lot of potential as a freshman for the Cats. Morgan can send line shots over defenders in the front row and send hard shots to the back line. She's also not afraid to put balls off blockers. Morgan can become a reliable hitter in the 8th Region with more consistency.     Gilliland has a great approach to the net. You do not know whether she will smack it or tip it until the last second. Gilliland smacks four and five-ball sets to different parts of the court. Gilliland has fully recovered from the season-ending Anterior Cruciated Ligament injury last year. Her vertical has improved from 9-feet-8-inches before the injury to 9-10. Gilliland had 113 kills before the injury helping the Purples go 34-7 overall, winning both the 14th District and 4th Region crowns on the way to a state quarterfinal finish.     Fawns (pictured) has the talent to develop into one of the toughest middles in the 10th Region. The Indians took full advantage of Fawns' height in the middle on short sets. She mixes in the hard and soft shots from the middle well. Fawns can add to her game if she develops shots from other parts of the court. She is a sound blocker. Fawns had 179 kills, 35 solo and 24 assisted blocks for the Indians this past fall, leading them to a 26-13 record, a 40th District crown and spot in the 10th Region semifinals.
