Gehring plays all six positions for the A.61 team in the 6-2 attack. She sets up the offense and takes big swings. She has good footwork to put power into balls, often hitting them off blockers. She mixes up her sits often pushing balls toward the net. She will even hit second balls over for setter dumps. Gehring also controls the net as a sound blocker. She puts up a variety of short and long sets. Travis knows the hitters' hot spots and tries to put balls there. She does a good job leading on the court. She moves her feet well hustling after balls and making passes under control. However, this 17 Blue TSE team is loaded up front that the two-time 10th Region Player of the Year mostly plays defense. She makes a number of sound passes for the team. She mixes in setter dumps to keep defenses honest. Locke displayed sound range digging up a setter dump. She does not hesitate to shove balls across the net on the second hit. She hustles after balls, crouching down going after balls, but stays under control. She had a number of hard serves over the weekend, keeping opponents out of rhythm.
