Gehring picked things up both setting and on the outside when a teammates went down with an injury. Gehring displays tremendous poise on the court. She tries to get numerous teammates involved knowing balance is needed to win consistently in the 9th Region.

Gehring is displaying the hustle that generally makes coaches proud. She takes sound swings on the outside and does a great job setting up hitters for success. Gehring does a variety of sets and mixes in setovers to keep defenders on their toes. She dives when necessary under control to keep plays alive.

Versatility only helps out players and that’s what Gehring is striving for entering her sophomore season at Ryle. She has played a big role for the A.61’s 5-1 start to the AAU National Tournament in Orlando so far. She quarterbacks the offense well and is not afraid to call for balls and take nice swings at the net. Gehring mixes in setovers and does a great job trying to keep plays alive.

Gehring (pictured) may give Ryle some options in the fall with her versatility. Gehring plays all six positions for the A.61 team in the 6-2 attack. She sets up the offense and takes big swings. She has good footwork to put power into balls, often hitting them off blockers. She mixes up her sits often pushing balls toward the net. She will even hit second balls over for setter dumps. Gehring also controls the net as a sound blocker. Gehring said she tries her hardest to hustle to balls and execute on every ball she touches.
