Already owning the size and footwork to run a 5-1 on her own, she can be part of any offense that's willing to go fast and be physical. Caitlyn is also fully capable of going over on her own whenever she wants---the advantage of size and court awareness runs strong with her. I also like her blocking technique. For a lot of setters in this class, defense is an afterthought, but Miss Gutt can use her size and length to give opposing hitters fits. The future's bright with this one, and we'll be watching closely to her progress.

With a bid to nationals in hand, Charlee is a technically sound setter that may look undersized, but isn't. Her ability to locate sets accurately makes the 15-1 at Circle be one of the best in the state, and she can turn a bad pass into a hittable ball regularly. I also like her ability to get to balls using proper footwork instead of what I call "miracle sets" and showmanship. She does her job, and she does it well, all while being unassuming. Add in a sprinkling of timely offense and a healthy heaping of a tough serve, and she's the complete package at the setting position.

A multisport star (softball being the other), Aubriana can do a little of everything on the court, and at multiple positions as well. Even in our Freshman Showcase, she asked for extra reps in different positions, just so she could see where she stood among others in her class. I don't recall such a well-rounded athlete being able to do multiple positions at a high level, yet Miss Bumpass does it with ease. Her footwork and athleticism gets her to every pass, good or bad, and her ability to jump well with a quick arm swing proves my statement above on the attack. I'll put her as setter for now, but knowing we could easily add 'RS' to the position profile would not be a stretch.

From a school FILLED with amazing female athletes, Kelsey is also from a volleyball family in the southwestern part of Indiana. Long and lean, she keeps her hands high when setting and locates the ball well in an up-tempo offense. In club, she's been tested quite a bit and has all the makings of a multi positional star. With a high attack point and a whip for an arm, she can be part of a modified 6-2; she can attack from either pin in the front row while running an offense in the back row. Don't make her pick one yet---I would hate to see this kid's talents limited.

Digging deep on the list from eastern Indiana (specifically, Richmond), Taryn is an athletic left-handed setter who can grip it and rip it from the baseline with a wicked topspin serve. She plays for one of the smallest high schools and clubs in Indiana, but that hasn't stopped her from catching the eye of many a recruiter, including this one. She can attack, and does her best damage from the service line. However, her future might be in setting, as her high hands and accurate placement set her apart from some others on this list. And hey, who couldn't use a lefty setter these days?
