With every release of a new-and-improved rankings list comes the handful of athletes that went above and beyond in those few months since the previous release. Here are five from around the state that have REALLY taken their game to new heights, and plan to do even more as the club season moves past the halfway point.    As intimidating as her profile photo looks, Lexi is a long, lean and fast athlete that gives fits to all opponents on a regular basis in all aspects of her game. On offense, she's on time and quick with her transition, making slow blocks look slower and small blockers look obsolete. On defense, she somehow gets touches on nearly EVERY ball attacked in her general direction, making the defenders behind her thankful for a front row player constantly engaged on defense. Terminal in her play and relentless in her work ethic, Lexi is a solid candidate for high-end recruiting attention.     A big that can play all the way around? Sign me up for more views of this kid. Long, tall, and athletic, Miss Griffiths goes over a ton of blocks on the pin, can hit every angle in her arsenal with ease, and is tough to play against on defense. I like the positive energy she brings regularly on each and every play, as she genuinely looks fun to have as a teammate. I'd like to see a bit more development in her passing skill set, but for now, she can put balls away from anywhere and is serviceable as a passer in both serve receive and on floor defense.     Springy and tough, Emily's ability to get up and score points on both offense and defense has you thinking twice about her actual height. As the smallest pure attacker on this list, Miss Noto uses her whiplike arm swing as a weapon, and can adjust to mediocre setting with quick footwork. I like her blocking as well—-she reads and sets some of the best right side blocks in any class, and is athletic enough to make up for being late. With a high volleyball IQ and a relentless motor, Emily will be fun to watch evolve into one of the top right sides northern Indiana has seen in quite some time.     A lefty banger in the front and a setter in the back, Olivia is a game-changer for Indian Creek and her club squad at Academy. She has all of the tools in her toolbox on the attack—-and adjusts enough for what the defense gives her. When setting, she has strong hands and locates the ball well. I like that she can do both skills (attacking and setting) well, and since neither are significantly better than the other, she's a nice hybrid recruit for a school looking for exactly that.     Well-rounded, smart and athletic, Maylynn's stock is rising while playing for one of the smaller, regional clubs in Indiana. Able to terminate from both pins and do a little of everything well, Miss Morrison makes up for her height differential with athleticism, a high volleyball IQ and an innate ability to score points no matter where the ball is set. I'd like to see a bit more from her all-around game, as most of the highlights I've seen of her are on the attack. No matter, the numbers don't lie—-she's a key figure on both her club and high school teams on both offense and defense, and will be stronger and faster as she gets older.
