With the college recruiting dead period over, it's time to get the next in line some much-needed publicity going into the homes stretch of the club season. Each of these five players, from five different clubs, have their own "thing" that makes them stand out from the rest. Here they are, in no particular order.

They say that you can't teach height. Samantha has it in droves, and could be anything from a three-rotation outside to a three-rotation right side at the next level. Her attack touch height is above average for this class, she takes up space on the block, and has a good arm that can terminate when in system. Her high school season last fall was one of the rare down seasons at Carmel, but her club season is moving along just fine, and should earn some more looks because of that size of hers.

Another big kid with potential, Bailey is a true right side at the next level, and she's been doing just that for the last couple of years. More broad-shouldered than Samantha listed above, I believe her blocking technique is more advanced than her attacking simply because of the lack of attacking experience she's had in high school. Her penetration as a blocker is much better than the norm for right sides in this class, and it's just a matter of time and training for her attacking to catch up.

One of the few open-level six-rotation athletes still available in this class, Ellie is a springy and fast outside that can do all the things a normal primary-passing outside can and should do. On the attack, she has all of the shots in her arsenal, including off-speed. As a blocker, her height and length allow her to do her job well. In serve receive, she does appear to be a bit upright, but still manages to be quite serviceable when receiving. On defense, she's again too upright for my taste, but still has the ability to read, react and make a play that allows her setter to do her job.

Another potential six-rotation kid had a nice weekend at Indy Cup on both the attack and on defense/serve receive. The only thing truly missing from her overall volleyball package is the ability to speed her arm up to "terminal" levels. She's this close to finishing plays that could be tool shots instead of continuations if her armswing was faster and/or heavier. Other than that, this is a well-trained, primary-passing six-rotation outside that would do well in a system that will allow her to strengthen that shoulder on offense. The rest of her game is college-ready.

A multi-sport kid with so much potential, Ava has strength, physicality, power and a relentless motor that can't be taught. I haven't seen as much of her this spring as I would like, but from what I have seen, she plays bigger than her frame and is always in 100% mode. I'd argue that, if she were a senior this year, she'd be a three-rotation pin player for the next level. Thankfully, she has another whole year to develop her all-around game and really focus on where her aspirations lie. Her athleticism should dictate her future, as we'll get a better understanding of where she belongs once her senior season starts.
