We've spent a ton of article space and time talking about the big time attackers and setters from both the class of 2026 and the class of 2027. However, none of those attackers and setters would have been mentioned without the work of the unsung heroines we're listing here today. Here are five floor defenders from five different clubs that have earned a ton of respect and attention this club season.

As the libero for one of the top 16s teams in the midwest, it's important to note how vital Lyndsey's passing is to their success. Not surprisingly, Miss Robinson is the top floor defender listed because of that solid Munciana ball-control training. She's hyper accurate in serve receive, takes on the hardest of attacks from opponents with ease, and is always around the ball on off-speed shots and coverage balls. Quick and decisive, Lyndsey makes the position look simple, which it certainly is NOT.

Speaking of making the libero position look simple, Kendyl's smooth approach to passing is a nice alternative to the jerky and manic movements of some liberi in central Indiana. Quick to the ball and calm on contact, Miss Strack keeps plays alive because of her calm demeanor on first contact. It's that combination of fast feet and quiet platform that will dictate her future recruitment; as long as the training and high level of play continues, I would not be surprised if Kendyl was one of the first floor defenders off of our big board once offers begin this summer.

As a Roncalli kid, it goes without saying that Cicily's ball control is well above average. Despite her size, Miss Borders takes long and deliberate strides to get to each and every ball, and works to stay on her feet as long as possible to play that first contact to perfection. I'd like to see her use her hands a bit more on free balls, but that's just nitpicking on my part because of how complete her game actually is. Her continued improvement will definitely rely on two things---high level match play and training focused on foot movement.

From southwestern Indiana comes a defender that's currently spending time being a six-ro outside for Metro. Realistically, she won't be an outside at the next level, but I understand the coaching move to have Nora in on every single first contact throughout the match. Wide in her base, smart on contact and pass-to-attack ready, she's more than capable of being a six-ro outside for her club team this season. Soon, it will be time for her to focus full-time on being that exceptional libero that got her mentioned here. For now, however, let's all enjoy Nora's ability to play all parts of this game well, despite her apparent lack of size to do so.

I'm finding that I'm an initially mediocre evaluator of defenders, and Addie is a HUGE miss on my part. Miss Doak is a left back queen that takes the hardest shots from the best attackers and asks for more. Her calm platform in the face of a hard-driven ball is already ahead of most on this list, and her ability to chase down off-speed and potentially tooled shots is second to none. I like how she gets stopped before her opponents contact their attack, allowing her to make a secondary movement if needed to explode to the ball. Nearly every contact of hers, whether it's in serve receive, free ball passing or hard-driven attacks, hits the setter in her hands and on target. That number under her profile picture is about to go WAY up on the next update, and all because of her exceptional play and abilities.
