With the recruiting dead period complete, college coaches will be out and about in droves looking for their kids to fill their rosters. In the class of '26, there are plenty of options in the middle in Indiana. Here are five athletes from five different clubs that can make a difference for their new homes starting in the fall of 2026.

One of TWO state champions on this list, Addi is a springy and quick-footed middle that can play either position, but is best suited for the M2 spot in the starting six. Able to hit all angles and attack much higher than expected, Addi's steady reliability and consistent readiness to hit are calling cards for her play. On the block, her length is deceptive, as it is much longer than her 5'10" frame might otherwise indicate. Personally, you can't go wrong with a winner who's an athlete, and Addi fits the mold. Scratch that---she IS the mold.

Tucked away on Academy's sister club, Monon Select, Emerson has a ton of length to manipulate attacking angles and cause problems for opposing attackers. It does help that she's six feet in height, but she plays so much bigger than that. Even on less-than-perfect attacks, she finds ways to (1) keep the ball in play, and (2) still find an angle to score points with. One other trait that I find quite recruitable is that she's always available to hit. This time of year has a host of middles that are tired, frustrated, or just flat out don't have the willingness to be up and ready to hit at a moment's notice. Emerson, without fail, is ALWAYS ready to hit.

Big and physical, Maezi is a strong M2 candidate for anyone looking for a size and strength combination at the next level. Over the last couple of seasons, Maezi has slowly improved from being big and shy to big and able to take over a match if you let her. I also like how her strength and jumping ability has improved, as proof that she's put in the work to get stronger and jump higher rather than rest on the fact that she's 6'3". The work ethic is there, the high volleyball IQ is there, and she's steadily improved over the years of playing. What more do you need?

One of the better hybrid middles available in this class, Adele uses every bit of her 6'1" frame to attack both in front of and behind the setter. Her two-footed attack is solid in both positions, and her experience playing in both just makes her that much more marketable to the next level. She really showed out at MEQ's here in Indy in March as a ready-to-hit M2 with length to block anyone in any position. It shouldn't be long now before offers start rolling in for Adele.

The second of two state champions on this list, Emmerson was one of the middles for 2A champ Western Boone this past fall. Neatly hidden away on Circle's 17 Black (17-2) squad, Miss Gott's offensive capabilities have caught up to her defensive prowess this club season. Relentless training, work ethic and overall positive attitude has brought her this far---from relative unknown two seasons ago to state champ and solid M2 option. Her wing span makes her look much taller than her 6' frame might lead us to believe, which is why her blocking ability is so much more refined. Nevertheless, she's got all parts of her game going, and will be a nice addition to whomever needs her.
