<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The [program_tooltip program_id='510734' first='Lexington' last='United'] 15U Elite teams have shown how far volleyball has come in central Kentucky.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>15 Elite</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This group all from the Classes of 2028 is sure to be heard from over the next three years in the 43rd District.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Dunbar's [player_tooltip player_id='774734' first='Zya' last='Richardson'] and Lexington Catholic's [player_tooltip player_id='768422' first='Elise' last='Millard'] start things off with good passes to setters Lydia Krupp from Tates Creek and Dunbar's Ava Martha. Dunbar's Niva Patel plays outside hitter and defensive specialist. LexCath's [player_tooltip player_id='778170' first='Isabella' last='Tipton'] plays middle and right side and another LexCath player in [player_tooltip player_id='768460' first='Madeline' last='Sisk'] takes big swings from the outside. LexCath's [player_tooltip player_id='774758' first='Noah' last='Cecil'] and Lafayette's [player_tooltip player_id='711994' first='Carli' last='Dotson'] along with Dunbar's [player_tooltip player_id='727151' first='Noelle' last='Davis'] take nice swings from the outside.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The team led by head coach Darby Boudon has finished in the top half of four tournaments competed in this season. The team plays in the Players Championship in Louisville on May 31 and June 1.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>55 Elite</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This group is showing a ton of potential. The team did take 17th out of 64 teams in the 15-16 Mideast Power League.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Dunbar freshman Elizabeth Buzard, West Jessamine eighth grader [player_tooltip player_id='774738' first='Ava' last='Smith'] and Frederick Douglass freshman Eva Gold start things off with nice passes to Woodford County freshman setter [player_tooltip player_id='724682' first='Lucy' last='Culbertson']. Lexington Catholic freshman [player_tooltip player_id='778175' first='Stella' last='Clements'] in the middle and outside Allie Hamilton give the team lefthanded presences. Dunbar freshman Maggie Young and Lexington Christian freshman [player_tooltip player_id='778176' first='Jillian' last='Weaver'] make plays on the outside along with Dunbar freshman Julia Mazza. Davis has outstanding timing on her blocks. Davis puts good power into balls from both pins. She can also angle balls off blocks with her timing. Tipton has a good arm swing and finds different ways to put balls down. She smacks balls to the back line and continuously finds ways to hit balls off blockers. Weaver angles balls off blockers and out of bounds. She's not afraid to make the necessary adjustments needed to put balls down. Weaver taps balls to the middle when the opening is there.
