The first game on court 25 pairs up two future University of Dayton teammates when [program_tooltip program_id='431827' first='Elevation' last=''] 17 Chicas takes on MAVA 17 Select. Select features the 6-4 [player_tooltip player_id='443382' first='Ava' last='Liening'], who recently changed her commitment to Dayton, with [player_tooltip player_id='227628' first='Sidney' last='Sprada'] from Chicas on the other side.

There are some other good matchups on the first day Saturday at the Kentucky Expo Center. [program_tooltip program_id='430852' first='Tri-State' last='Elite'] 16 and MAVA 16 Select meet one court over on 26 at the same time after a classic battle in the Showdown in the Smokies in late April in that 16 Open for the third tournament win of the season. Beechwood sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='456263' first='Rachel' last='Lewandowski'] will need to get her hands on some balls from 16 Select power hitter [player_tooltip player_id='484299' first='Madelynn' last='Yates'], who topped out at 52 miles per hour and averaged between 48 and 49 in a recent swing speed test performed by her MAVA head coach Anna Palmer and staff, and others. Ryle defensive specialist [player_tooltip player_id='334217' first='Francesca' last='Hansel'] can dig up powerful hitters, but tipped balls make things easier on defenders.

MAVA 16 Select is due for another big tournament win. The team won the 17/18 Girls Division in the MAVA Club Challenge. The team has finished runner-up three times since then. Setter [player_tooltip player_id='484248' first='Mia' last='Jasgarszewski'] has a number of talented hitters to set up after the team makes clean first passes. [player_tooltip player_id='603781' first='Ellie' last='Sharpe'] averaged 45 miles per hour on the swing speed test with a top speed of 49.

Jasgarszewski (pictured) may be the top setter in her class with the way she throws off solid defenders. They may guess the set is going outside, only for it to go to the middle. She has outstanding jump sets. Her size definitely gives her an advantage and the 16 Select coaching staff tries to take advantage of it. Jasgarszewski puts up battles on defense and is a sound communicator.

Lewandowski has been a talented outside hitter her entire career and continues to shine there during club season. Lewandowski smacks balls hard to different parts of the court and even takes some things off her hits if needed. Lewandowski is also solid on defense. She pairs up with teammates well to form sound double blocks. Her natural athleticism more than helps her cause.

Gorter has a bright future ahead of her for the Chargers. Gorter earned some valuable experience this past fall, going against sound players in the 6th Region. Gorter moves her feet well and squares her arms up to balls for consistent two to three-point passes. Gorter lunges when necessary, but still hits a good number of balls into the imaginary box in the front row to setters. Her control could improve, but that's sure to happen with her work ethic. Gorter had 103 digs this past fall, helping Bullitt East go 20-8 and make it back to the 6th Region Tournament.

Fuller is looking to turn into one of the top liberos in the 7th Region next season. She has outstanding instincts on the court. Fuller consistently moves her feet and anticipates balls well. Fuller delivers a number of solid passes to jumpstart the 16 White offense.
