Hansel, at 5’5, can make a big impact as a DS/L prospect for a Tri-State team that has big offensive tools. Her quickness in her footwork and reactions defensively help create opportunities for their dynamic setter to do her creative work. She gets balanced and stopped as she watches the play develop, which allows her to make the right moves to develop range outside her midline and to the floor to keep the ball off the court.

Hansel continues to play hard nearing the end of club season. She makes sound first touches then goes toward hitters to provide protection against blocks. Her range lets her fall back on hard shots and come up quickly to dig up tipped shots. Described as caring, bubbly and encouraging by teammates and close ones, Hansel also serves hard. She kept MAVA 17 Select out of system mixing up targets unless she found a weakness.

Hansel owns the back row making the routine passes time and time again. Hansel uses her range to track down balls, yet remain under control. Hansel has so much experience against high-level Open Division competition that well-struck balls bounce of her arms like ping pong balls straight to setters. Hansel is not afraid to lunge back if needed to track down shoves to corners. Hansel adds in a tough line drive jump serve. Hansel had 222 digs and 43 aces in the fall, helping Ryle go 22-14, win a sixth straight 33rd District championship and drive back to the 9th Region semifinals.

Hansel (pictured) is as humble as anyone both on and off the court. It helps her stay calm through the ups and downs of the game. Hansel’s range has improved considerably throughout club season. Hansel has always done a good job going after balls with everything she has under control. She had 321 digs and 44 aces to help Ryle to a 24-9 record, another 33rd District crown and spot in the 9th Region semifinals in the fall.
