Let's brush off an old series for the 2028 watch list.

We've occasionally explored a "tall talents" series that examines emerging athletes who are six feet or taller. Even with 2028s just beginning their prep journeys, we have a stout group of players whose physicality presents tough matchups for opposing teams.

So, let's give a nod to these lengthy standouts from our Nebraska 2028 watch list.

Linnen was a surefire addition to our 2028 watch list after her early-season reps with Nebraska Elite 15 Koa. She is a game-wrecking blocker in the front row and has also upgraded her offense in front of the setter. Frontcourt length has been a staple of 15 Koa's success, with Linnen providing the anchor from the middle blocker spot. Her sky-high ceiling makes Nebraska Elite a must-watch club for the state's "tall talents."

Gretna High School's outstanding freshmen have been a common discussion topic in our Class of 2028 features. Froehlich has flourished at Premier Nebraska 15 Gold's middle blocker spot and has influenced every phase of the game. Her stout blocking doesn't just come from her length; Froehlich also has a knack for reading setters and making quick moves. This multi-position star can also fortify the right-side hitter position, too. Froehlich is due for another big uptick in production this fall.

Here's another athlete who made a big first impression on our 2024 showcase circuit. Liebentritt was a force among the freshmen and demonstrated her ability to swing at indefensible angles. She has brought the same qualities to Premier Nebraska 15 Red while also becoming the team's best shutdown blocker. Liebentritt understands how to line up at the net and deliver a strong, formidable wall. Her stock has climbed even higher through the club season.

Wiig provides an uptick in frontcourt length no matter which position she's playing. We've seen her earn reps at middle blocker and opposite for [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] 15 Titanium, and Wiig has an intimidating presence at either spot. She has continuously improved as a transition attacker and skillfully places her cross-court shots. Wiig makes the high-profile move to Lincoln Lutheran this fall.

[program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 15 Elite's exceptional season has a lot to do with its length and power on the right side. Cain has been a game-changing leader at this position and has stepped up in 15 Elite's biggest matches. Her resume now includes a bid-earning qualifier triumph, a Great Plains Region Bid Tournament title, and valuable Open-level experience. Cain is poised for more highlight moments heading into Nationals.

[program_tooltip program_id='428728' first='River' last='City Jrs'] 15 Navy has no shortage of front-row juggernauts to watch. Kava was dominant at early-season regional events and did her damage in several different ways. She can produce a ton of heat on the traditional middle quick, but Kava can also adapt into a middle-opposite hybrid role. Her right-side attacks have created another wrinkle in the 15 Navy offense, making this squad even more difficult to stop. Look for this versatility as [program_tooltip program_id='428728' first='River' last='City Jrs'] embarks on its postseason trek.

Keep an eye on this show-stopping opposite from the small-town scene. Wardyn landed on our radar after excelling with South Central NE at GJNC. She followed that up with a high-impact showing at our Prep Dig Freshman Showcase last summer. Wardyn rounded everything out with a stout freshman debut with York as the team's go-to terminator on the right side. This dynamic athlete has the physicality and skill to stay atop Nebraska's scoring leaderboards for years to come.
