We’d also lauded her positional versatility, flip-flopping between the left and right pins from one season to the next. Her right-side prowess takes precedence with VCNebraska 16 Elite, which locked up its GJNC plans through the Show Me Qualifier. That has provided plenty of scouting opportunities for college coaches, and Wayne State was eager to pounce on this in-state prospect.

It’s hard to ignore VCNebraska ‘s resurgent athletes from the Class of 2028. Cain’s heavy-handed approach on the right side helped VCNebraska 16 Elite lock up a coveted 16 USA bid through the Northern Lights Qualifier. Her oscillation between pins has been fascinating to follow, as Cain lit up the scoreboard at one of Lincoln Standing Bear’s left-side hitter spots. This willingness to shift gears has dramatically raised 16 Elite’s ceiling. Indianapolis will provide the ultimate test of how far Cain and VCNebraska can climb.

Prep newcomer Lincoln Standing Bear has few upperclassmen on its roster, so the Grizzlies give us plenty of underclassmen to discuss. Cain engineered Standing Bear’s run to the top bracket with her quick right arm and bountiful athleticism. She leads the Grizzly ledger with over four kills per set, and she snapped down plenty of highlight-worthy terminations at the LPS Classic. Moreover, Cain is expanding on the six-rotation potential we saw when she competed with VCNebraska this spring. Last weekend’s outing was a colossal step forward for Standing Bear’s journey–and that journey just started.

VCNebraska 15 Elite’s exceptional season has a lot to do with its length and power on the right side. Cain has been a game-changing leader at this position and has stepped up in 15 Elite’s biggest matches. Her resume now includes a bid-earning qualifier triumph, a Great Plains Region Bid Tournament title, and valuable Open-level experience. Cain is poised for more highlight moments heading into Nationals.

Her floor-denting kills are a staple of 15 Elite’s operation, but Cain can deliver in many other phases for this group.
