Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
Premier Nebraska 16 Gold wielded a well-rounded frontcourt effort en route to Mideast Qualifier glory. But, even with that balance, Froehlich’s takeover moments were plentiful. The Gretna middle blocker is a game-changing ‘M1’ who has become a matchup nightmare for opposing defenders. 16 Gold has harnessed Froehlich’s range and diverse route tree to create unstoppable first-ball plays. She can terminate in front of the setter or detonate on the slide. Froehlich doesn’t need to be in a two-hitter rotation to operate on the right side, either. Nothing will limit this elite athlete at the net.

Froehlich has been perhaps the most improved member of Gretna’s star-studded sophomore cast. Her attacking percentage has exploded to 0.339 while logging over 150 kills more than her freshman production. Her well-rounded efforts are required to contain a lightning-fast Waverly offense.

Gretna’s frontcourt is full of proven commodities, so it might be difficult to pick out a breakout attacker from the Dragon lineup. However, Froehlich’s red-hot start to the 2025 season has warranted mention for this feature. This stout middle blocker has nearly matched her total kill count from last year after only 15 sets played in 2025. Froehlich is also hitting above 0.300, giving Gretna yet another terminal weapon for in-system situations. The 2025 club season was just a prelude to Froehlich’s continued rise as a Gretna sophomore.

Gretna High School’s outstanding freshmen have been a common discussion topic in our Class of 2028 features. Froehlich has flourished at Premier Nebraska 15 Gold’s middle blocker spot and has influenced every phase of the game. Her stout blocking doesn’t just come from her length; Froehlich also has a knack for reading setters and making quick moves. This multi-position star can also fortify the right-side hitter position, too. Froehlich is due for another big uptick in production this fall.

Froehlich has been making high-impact plays in the Premier Nebraska gym for a while. Her vast qualifier experience should offer a big boost to Premier Nebraska 15 Gold as the team chases a 15 Open bid in Kansas City. This Gretna freshman can terminate over the top of blockers, form a defensive wall at the net, and even slot into the opposite position if needed. That versatility should be a major factor in Show Me’s tough 15 Open field.

We were eager to update our scouting report on Premier Nebraska 15 Gold when we visited last weekend’s Midwest Power League. Froehlich made a big first impression through her takeover ability as a middle blocker. Her refined blocking technique produced some enormous stuff blocks during Sunday’s event, and Froehlich accompanied that with some impressive swings in front of the setter. The Gretna area is already stacked with high-impact 2028s.

Here’s a 2028 who got a headstart on our recruiting radar. Froehlich was a key contributor to this year’s young Gretna team and helped the Dragons clinch a Class B tournament berth. She was also a high-profile performer in the Premier Nebraska gym and will carry the banner for Premier 15 Gold in 2025. Froehlich’s tireless effort and natural ability will make her a surefire addition to our first 2028 watch list, and last weekend’s showcase output served as a stark reminder.

Premier 14 Black’s first-ball offense often operates through Froehlich. Her native position is at middle blocker, but Froehlich’s role goes beyond what is normally expected of middles. This rising Gretna freshman often takes swings on the left pin, where her high contact point can generate a quick kill. It’s a tactic that allows Froehlich to get as much attacking volume as possible, and she’s sure to make the most of it.
