<p>The 2025 Emerald City Classic Open Division featured many top teams from across the state. Here is a first look at teams and players that finished in the top four of the Open Divisions this weekend. </p>

<p><strong>18 Open Championship: Sudden Impact 17 over CPA 17 Benson: 26-24, 25-23. </strong> SIVBC turned the tables on CPA after a pool play loss on day 1 to the team from the Eastside. Sudden Impact had players stepping up and making plays late in both sets, and no one may have played better than libero <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='251026' first='Kaitlyn' last='Nguyen']. </strong>The University of Washington verbal was instrumental in the serve and pass game and delivered critical digs when Sudden Impact needed a defensive play. CPA right-side <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='244059' first='Ashlyn' last='Aaron']</strong> terminated at a high clip during the tournament and slammed the door shut multiple times on teams trying to mount a rally. </p>

<p><strong>18 Open: 3rd Place- NPJ Seattle 18, 4th Place- PSVBA 18 Legacy.</strong> NPJ Seattle was paced by setter/right-side<strong> [player_tooltip player_id='253254' first='Annika' last='Wright']</strong> and outside<strong> [player_tooltip player_id='268223' first='Maiya' last='Lester']</strong>. Both players have added to their game as they finish their last bit of club play before heading to college camp. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='268468' first='Holley' last='McFadden']</strong> showed the offensive skill she brings to Oregon next season; she can see the block and adjust her swing to find a small opening for a kill. PSVBA's <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='266133' first='Bryanna' last='Dodson']</strong> was super fun to watch playing the pin- the 2025 was fearless and athletic, ripping kills at all angles.</p>

<p><strong>16 Open Championship: WVBA 16 Adidas over SIVBC 16 Thunder: 25-22, 25-23.</strong> The two teams matched up in the championship final, knowing one another well, and WVBA took home the Gold Ball in their "home" club tournament. WVBA setter <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='506405' first='Teuila' last='Halalilo']</strong> was deservedly named MVP of the 16 Open- she found her attackers in good matchups and played excellent defense. 2028 libero <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='450287' first='Kenzie' last='Bentosino']</strong> played tough defense for Sudden Impact, delivering for her team against outstanding competition.</p>

<p><strong>16 Open: 3rd Place: SNVF 16 Blitz, 4th Place</strong><span style="margin: 0px;padding: 0px"><strong>—PJVBC 16 National.</strong> Space Needle had just one loss in the tournament, dropping the semi-final match to WVBA 16 Adidas in two. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='486974' first='Ava' last='Gonzalez'] </strong>was on fire for SNVF all tournament; she will be a handful for Everett opponents this fall. Puyallup Juniors 16 National makes teams work hard to score. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='541317' first='Emery' last='Stevenson']</strong> plays outside hitter with flair, </span>and her defensive skills are at a libero level. </p>

<p><strong>15 Open Championship: Prime 15 Adidas O over CPA 15 Drew: 25-20, 25-16. </strong>Prime out of California flipped the result of their previous tournament match with CPA 15 Drew, winning the title and giving both squads a 7-1 overall record for the weekend. <span style="margin: 0px;padding: 0px">Six-rotation outside <strong>Eva Callari </strong>from Idaho had a terrific three days for CPA</span>. Callari plays all out and has an accurate and strong arm. </p>

<p><strong>15 Open: 3rd Place- NPJ Seattle 15 National, 4th Place- 208 U15 Elite. [player_tooltip player_id='725897' first='Melayna' last='Volkman']</strong> played big in the middle for NPJ. The squad's front line was on point, and the team's only two losses were in three sets. The 208 U15 Elite team blasted through two challenge bracket matches to earn their way into Gold. Libero <strong>Embree McKeown</strong>, from Idaho, made plays and kept her team's energy up all weekend.<strong> [player_tooltip player_id='644553' first='Jennavieve' last='Roberts']</strong> was competitive as a blocker and attacker on the right side; she has the good tendency to better the ball when it comes her way. </p>
