Pioneer Region results in AAU Wave 3 National championships

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Pioneer Region had a number of high finishes in Orlando over the four-day stretch.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The [program_tooltip program_id='430852' first='Tri-State' last='Elite'] 16 Blue team finished an outstanding season tied for fifth at 9-2 out of 75 teams. The team won the first eight matches before losing to eventual champion Legacy 16-1 Adidas, 2-0 (25-11, 26-24) in the championship bracket. TSE 16 Blue head coach Rob Courtney said the team was locked in and ready to compete from the first point. The team finished 52-8 on the season. Adidas KIVA 16 Red tied for 21st.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"Everyone was ready to chip in and adapt to what role the team needed of them on any given day or any particular match," Courtney said. "Really a special group of kids and I'm fortunate enough to be part of their journey this year."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Alpha A.61 team finished 10-3 overall winning the Consolation A Bracket in the 16 Select to take 13th out of 122 teams. The Adidas KIVA 16 Silver team tied for 37th overall out of 122 teams at 8-4, taking the Diamond Division A after an 0-3 day on the third day.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Several teams also did well in the 17 Open Division. The [program_tooltip program_id='430852' first='Tri-State' last='Elite'] 17 Blue finished 10th at 10-3 overall. The MAVA 17 Select team took 23rd and Adidas KIVA 17 Red tied for 19th out of 66 teams.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 17 Aspire Division saw the Adidas KIVA 17 Black team go 9-3 and win the Ruby Division A, good for 31st overall. In the first year as a club, the Kentucky Performance 17 Pink team finished 6-6 winning the Topaz Division.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the 17 Spirit Division, the [program_tooltip program_id='740321' first='Bluegrass' last='Volleyball Academy'] Boyd County 17 Red National team took runner-up in the Crystal Division. In the 17 Premier Division, Adidas KIVA 17 White team finished 7-4 good for 59th out of 138 teams.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[program_tooltip program_id='430852' first='Tri-State' last='Elite'] 16 White took a tie for 33rd out of 137 teams in the 16 Premier Division. The 16 Club Division saw Alpha A.62 tie for 41st at 6-4 overall with the Elizabethtown 16 Blue and Union 16 UA Blue teams also tying for 41st. Kaufmann also Lipsett played consistently. Lipsett finished the Consolation A bracket with a hard shot on the go route. Lipsett said she's been working on taking smart shots and not overthinking things. Courtney also said Lewandowski added in timely points when the team needed them the most, adding the team would not have gone as far without the contributions from Lewandowski and her each one of her teammates. Moore's hustle play led to the success the team saw in the tournament. The one play saw Moore make a pancake dig then a kick save after the ball deflected off a teammate. Expect more amazing plays from Moore at Boyd County this fall. Moore said the team has developed a close bond and the hope is to see the team continue to build on that team chemistry in the fall. She does a variety of sets from quicks to 31s. Davis sets balls toward the net into the power zones of the Mercy hitters. Davis adds in deceptive setovers. Davis has good court awareness, hustling hard after balls. Davis only dives when necessary.
